Summary: Might work well or it might not. You'll have to decide whether you want to take a chance on this one or not.
Cons: DOA! Not much can be said, Pro or Con, when you can't get it to power on. Can't try it to tell if it works well or not . Will probably cost as much to send back as I payed for it so I'll have to eat this one. Don't think I'll be buying any TP Link products again anytime soon.
Pros: Set-up was easy. Range was great (when it worked). Price affordable.
Cons: In just over a month, I've had to re-setup the router from scratch 4 times. One minute it's working great (and it does a great job when working), then the wireless is gone and I have to drag the CD-ROM out of the cabinet yet again. Contacted support - put the poor lady we were speaking to on spea...
Summary: Will be looking for a different router from a different company. The shipping cost to return this is as much as the router itself so I will use it as a paperweight.
Cons: -Wired and wireless connection drops frequently when connected to this device. Resetting it and changing the channel width does nothing to help. Firmware is updated to the latest as well. -Connection is slow when it does connect to the internet. Replaced the cable it came with and it still does n...
Summary: I contacted Tp-Link support, who was friendly and promises to call me back within 1 day for a replacement. I will expect Tp-Link to cover the shipping costs for the return/exchange.
Cons: Summary: I received version 8.2, and my router is junk. It requires a reboot every day or two. Unit freezes and is completely unresponsive. Web UI is unresponsive. Power cycle corrects problem. No firmware updates. More detail: I have 5 devices connecting to the unit via Wi-Fi, and 1 wired Qnap N...
Summary: Given my observations, this is a pretty lousy router. I am not sure if everyone is expected to update the firmware to get it to work. With the range this WIFI router has, one would just buy a 20ft cable and use a simple switch instead. I am not sure if this is an issue with the one I was delivered.
Pros: None that I can find
Cons: - Turned on the router as advised in the CD. The LED for wifi does not turn on. - I updated the firmware as a result and restarted the router. Finally see the WIFI Led light up. - I have used it for 4 days now. The internet is so slow when compared to D-Link or Trendnet I have used in the past. -...
Cons: I had it for a few weeks before I tried to use it. Set it up and it worked fine for a few days. I lost connection to the internet/modem. I went back to my old D-Link. I updated the firmware and decided to use it again. I defaulted it factory settings and made the changes I needed. It worked for a...
Summary: Tested w/ stock firmware, latest TP-Link Release, and various DD-WRT releases, same results with all. Spend a few extra dollars and get the WR1043.
Pros: Easy setup, was fast for a few days.
Cons: Any traffic through any NIC ports seemed to become debilitated. Loading web pages, DNS queries, FTP NFS and SMB transfers, all seem to have no connectivity when routing to any wired connection (LAN or WAN). Issue did not seem to be present on wireless only connections (on WLAN).
