Nice fast router for an absurdly low price

Chris A. Mahar, Amazon
  • Summary: I wanted this to extend my wifi out into the back yard. I upgraded the firmware from the TP-Link site without any problem. Then turned bridging on, set it up, and it worked first try. Nice fast router for an absurdly low price. This is my second TP-Link router, and I would certainly buy another if I needed one.

Great price, good reception.

Nick Portalski, Amazon
30 December 2014
  • Summary: Works fine all over our house. That is, good reception with all devices anywhere inside. (Haven't gone outside yet with a laptop.) Streaming movies to the Apple Box/Netflix works well. The price of this router was surprisingly low at about thirty bucks. It has been working flawlessly for almost two weeks now.

Good Choice for a Plain & Simple, Single-Band Router

lebowitzit, Amazon
22 December 2014
  • Summary: If you need a plain vanilla, low-cost router, this one might be just the ticket. It sets up easily and works reliably. Don't look to this model for advanced features like dual-band operation, very high speeds, extended range and QoS. I don't even remember if it offers a Access Point or Range Extender modes - the former disables the router and DHCP features and enables the router to act as a simple wireless access point, and the latter makes it a slave to a separate...

Perfect for small/medium homes

Hawkzilla, Amazon
19 December 2014
  • Summary: I have a small/medium sized home and was using a 150mpbs Dlink router for the past 6 years. I must say the Dlink served me well but the past year or so it would drop signal and require a hard rest to get it working again so it was time to upgrade. I researched (as I always do) and was looking for the following key factors: - Signal strength - Stability - Speed - Ease of setup I landed on this TP-Link model basedon the specs and customer reviews.

Fast but not as reliable as I had hoped.

M. Guericke "reckless37", Amazon
19 December 2014
  • Summary: Fast wifi, but requires reseting a bit often. I've gotten up to 60 megabits/sec download rates. However, it seems to need to be powered off/on at least weekly.

Fantastic basic modem for the price!!

Rational, Amazon
18 December 2014
  • Summary: What a great deal. I have to admit, I paused when I saw how inexpensive this unit was. But, in the end I listened to the reviews. I'm glad I did. Set up is a snap and it works like a champ! I have now had it up and running for about 5 months and have had zero problems with this modem. I would absolutely buy it again!

Not great. Wireless & Wired connections have been worsened since ...

bglasier, Amazon

  • Summary: Not great. Wireless & Wired connections have been worsened since I replaced my previous router with this. Spend the extra few bucks and get something better. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

Cost effective set it and forget it.

Josh Swygart, Amazon
9 December 2014
  • Summary: I'm cheap, but still expect the best in class products. I love this router. Have had it for 5 months and has never gone down. Set up was simple. Signal hits every corner of my house unlike my previous router. My roommates and I have multiple devices each and have never experienced any lag.
