Summary: ... to replace a problem router from the biggest manufacturer whose name begins with L. Easy manual setup via the browser interface. Router in a corner in the basement but great performance throughout the whole house. Recommended.
Summary: I like this router enough to purchase another one now that this one died. But Ill go with the TL-WR841N (Mwave #AA97481) as I currently dont need detachable antennas.
Pros: Flexible and more stable than some other wireless routers Ive worked with. Radio output power can be adjusted which is useful if you want to avoid saturating close-proximity clients, reduce RFI issues, and minimize hacking. Reverse polarity SMA (RP-SMA) connectors for the included antennas allow mounting antennas remotely (probably not these antennas unless you provide a ground plane).
Cons: Part of radio and DHCP on radio died after two years. Description of failure: The radio will not give out a DHCP address setting a static IP on the radio clients doesnt work, either. Radio is visible but connection is no longer possible. Wired portion of router still works. Not as much flexibility as more professional products such as Ubiquitis. Also there are not as many tools for signal analysis.
Summary: With other routers we have always had connection problems (requiring router reboot) when connected wirelessly to Apple and PC products simultaneously (Dell Laptop, MacBook, iPad, iPod). Never a problem with this router. Connected to the above plus TV and BluRay player and using all at once, streaming video from laptop to BluRay via router.
Pros: Operates without fault for PC and Apple products simultaneously.
Summary: This router will not blow you away. That being said, the price is right and it does what it is supposed to do. I had an old netgear wireless G router that began making a horrific high pitched noise so it had to go. This performs just as well or a little better. I feel like the antennas (placebo maybe since the netgear had none) increase the effective range. Covers every inch of 1900 Sq.
Summary: Everything seems perfect except sometimes netflix on my tv pauses for 'loading' But, can't really say that's the router as occasionally there were small interruptions when hardwired. May be netflix server overload during prime time or something. Router is wonderfully easy to set up. Good signal strength to outbuildings. Recommended!!
Summary: This router is ready to go out of the box. Took five minutes to set up everything and most of that was just setting up my passwords for security. This router performs as well as many of the big names out there which makes it great for all ranges of users. Highly recommend this product.
