Summary: Im using this as a universal repaeter in a building that is detached from the main house. It was easy to setup. Just need to hardware it to the lan once on setup after that it is footloose and fancy free. For those of you with android devices there is a bug in the os re: wifi roaming it likes to stick to whatever it connected to first with the same ssid. There is an ap to fix that.
Summary: So far this access point has performed very well. I have set up countless wireless networks and this one took me less than 5 minutes to have up and running. I actually set it up wirelessly using the web browser in my cell phone! Never did that before. Speed and range are great in my house. With appropriate wireless client adapters in my laptops (i.e.
Summary: TL-WA901ND V3 Firmware tried 130731, 141030. Tried to use this as a range extender, however it keeps dropping connection requiring reboot every day or so. It keeps showing up as an access point for devices with overwhelming signal strength so that devices preferentially keep trying to connect to it. Tried to play around with settings to ensure there are no IP conflicts but it just doesn't want to stay connected for any meaningful period of time.
Summary: I bought this to extend the reach of my wifi. I consider myself to be better than a novice with electronics so I didn't have too much hesitation in buying this TP Link. However, after trying to get this thing to work properly for two days and several hours, I am about to give up on it. The device works, for what it's worth. The problem is that I can't get into the configuration page to make the network private.
Summary: Really like TP Link devices. Great prices and good products. Sadly I must have gotten a bad one. I only tried to use in Repeater mode and it would send a great usable signal for about a minute and then it would drop off for a minute and do it all over again. Just would not work correctly! Gave up and bought different one at big box store that worked great. Returned for a refund.
eh, not worth it when they ship out products that don't work.

Summary: The connection works. Covers about an 800 square foot range comfortably before dropping significant speeds. The poe adapter didn't even work. Called support, found out that it was the adapter and they just ran me in circles until they finally told me that they are a third party and aren't connected to TP link directly so I can't file for the manufacturers warranty.

Summary: Posting this review hoping it will help folks who are experiencing the same problems I did. The device worked nicely right out of the box. The problem was that any time I would put significant load on it (e.g. video streaming), the device I was using got disconnected. After some investigation I realized that the device was actually rebooting itself, which suggested a power issue. I was using the device with the provided PoE adapter and a 25' cable.
WARNING: But be prepared to maintain it on a regular basis.

Summary: I have had this device for 3 months now. I purchased it to be used in conjunction with my commercial grade firewall. At first use it was great. It solve some issues I was having with unicasting and multicasting which is needed for my Sonos Devices. It is really simple to set up. My configuration is a pretty simple one since I am using this strictly as an access point.
Summary: Am using it as an access point and that is how it is setup right out of the box. I thought they would be more powerful. I wanted them to reach just one floor down in the room just under where it was situated but it seemed to lose about 1/3 to 1/2 its bandwidth just penetrating one floor and a distance of only 8 feet. This is one mystery about wireless I will never understand. Why does the strength and speed of the signal vary from minute to minute.
Summary: We bought a number of these, hoping to provide both a secured and an unsecured inexpensive wireless network to our church building. Setup was easy, but we were a little annoyed by the fact that when in repeater mode, it would only do one SSID. Not a big deal, they're inexpensive, we can get more. The first one failed after a short time with all manner of unpredictable wireless behavior.
Pros: Easy setup, VLAN support, multiple SSID's, great range, POE. Most everything we were looking for.
Cons: Repeater/Range extender only handles 1 SSID, so don't buy two thinking you'll be able to extend all the SSIDs from the master. Unreliable and unpredictable wireless behavior. Constantly needing to be reset, with a high hardware failure rate.
