Works very well as a repeater and as a network client. - Easy to set-up and very fast.

Summary: I got this because the hotel that I'm staying in for a few months has terrible internet. I was paying an arm and a leg for Verizon internet hotspots because the connection in my room from the hotel was unusable. Eventually, I figured out that my room was just far from the access point, and a bad connection to the AP was the source of my slow speeds.
Summary: Purchased x2 to provide wifi off of a load-balanced VSAT setup in a field environment. Range is good, only used them in N Mode. These do come with a PoE injector, I purchased a seperate one thinking it didn't. PoE made installation much easier especially in a field environment. There were approx 12-16 devices on each AP at a time (mix of laptops, phones, and tablets). Had to reset now and then on one of them due to not allowing new clients to come on during heavy load.
Summary: What you want is something that's fairly easy to setup and works and keep working afterwards. That was my experience with the TP-Link TL-WA701ND. I had tried another brand and on occasions it would lock-up, needs to be rebooted etc., but not so with this unit. After going through the simple setup, it has been working since for a few months now. I have had other TP-Link products before and for the most part, they have proven to be very reliable. Will recommend.
Summary: Out of the box this piece of equipment was buggy at best. Constant dropped signals. TP-link firmware seemed good but after reading several reviews (which i should have done before I bought it) I decided a third party firmware might be the best answer as many other people had the same problem with this device. I first flashed it with Open WRT. After that flash the radio worked inconsistently. Then I found a bin file for DD-WRT and voila.
Summary: In my NYC apartment, I have the router in the bedroom but was not happy with the signal for Apple TV and iPad in the living room. I just did a test. Using TP-LINK as a Repeater, it doubles the upload and download speeds. That is great. As I was forewarned, when reading other reviews, the set up was a bit tricky. Most routers are. But I called Support and they walked me through setting up my iMac Sys Prefs so that I could get to the Admin dashboard in the Safari browser.
Summary: It's got a great automatic configuration set up but it does not work correctly if setting up as a repeater. You need to reconnect directly after the first set up to manually check settings and may need to manually set the IP and potentially switch of as the DHCP function. Could be the way I set it up but I have two and had to do it on both. Once I realised this and manually configured on top of the initial auto configuration both worked just fine.
Summary: I purchased two of these devices, and I am very happy with them. The default IP address is 192.168.0.254 which means that most people in the USA will probably need to temporarily set their computer's static IP address to 192.168.0.nnn to configure the device (via Ethernet cable), and tell the device to use the more common 192.168.1.nnn IP block; their computer would then either go back to a static 192.168.1.nnn IP, or use a dynamic IP address assigned by the router and...
Summary: Some have commented when using as repeater, the connection speed isn’t as good. That is because the speed is only as good as the root wifi router’s performance. If you setup the repeater near the edge of the root wifi router’s coverage area, that’s the speed that will be available in the repeater’s wifi zone.
Summary: Like anything else, the setup can be a process, but it's the nature of the beast when dealing with routers and access points. This product worked as described, setup was not too bad. (USE the provided CD) trying to short cut will waste time. Gives you a choice of (wifi extender) (Access point) and more. range is very good. slim design and ability to be wall or ceiling mounted is a bonus.
Summary: This device can be used as a wireless router, wireless repeater, wireless bridge, wireless access point or a wireless client. While there is only one Ethernet port, it easily sync'ed with another wired hub to allow us to connect all of our non-wireless equipment to our wired network (provided by a cell phone wireless device).
