Need to reboot every day

chensium, Amazon
14 November 2014
  • Summary: I bought this to hopefully improve the range and bandwidth of my 10 year old Linksys WRT54G access points. And while the N protocol does appear to improve my bandwidth, that benefit is not very noticeable with normal usage (Pandora, youtube, etc). The range is actually worse than the WRT54G's.

Now I truly understand why people say they wish they could rate something zero stars!!

  • Summary: Unit would not work as repeater or in bridge mode. I've set up 5 or 6 of repeaters/bridges, and this is the first I couldn't get to work. TP-Link customer support - don't count on it!!! I got busy signals for about half an hour. Then . . .

  • Summary: I have tried everything but this thing refuses to play nice with my existing TP-Link router (TL-WR1043ND R). Everything is fine for a day or so using this as a repeater and then it will knock all my devices off wifi.

  • Summary: Windows clients, even those with TP-LINK wireless adapters would get dropped and unable to reconnect without power cycling this awful WAP. The Androids had the best luck and the Roku and Chromecast did okay, but the TL-WN722Ns would not stay connected, nor would my Lenovo X230.

  • Summary: I am a "High Tech" guy and could not get this unit to work. The sign-in box that lets one change the IP Address and gateway appeared once and never again. I tried this on three computers. Spent 5 hours trying to get it to work.

needs constant restart

Jun Wang, Amazon
6 January 2013
  • Summary: Don't waste your time on this item, it works fine at the beginning, then it needs constant reset, otherwise there is no connection. BTW, the item out of the box is different from the picture showing, I wouldn't have cared if it works fine, but it is not.

Requires Frequent Reboots

Eric Durbin, Amazon
14 October 2012
  • Summary: I bought one of these units to upgrade my wireless network at home to Wireless-N. The first unit required daily reboots to keep it working. It would lock up daily so that none of my wireless devices could connect. I returned it and got a replacement, but the replacement did the same thing.
