Summary: I previously bought the plastic TP 5 port gigabit switches which are still going, this things seem indestructable!! but this best sits and sliles all day long, getting great speeds over my network, soon about to use just this with my BT HUB 5 at the other end!
Summary: Amazing high quality build for such a low priced piece of kit. Having given up on wi-fi, (overcrowded with neighbouring networks) we decided to go wired for all the AV equipment, and bought this to manage the traffic. Superb job. Streaming 5 movies over 5 devices no more pausing or glitches ... remaining wi-fi has improved as well. All in all, a few (easily hidden) flat ethernet cables, and this box, saved £100's on wireless repeaters.
Summary: Excellent product, quite in operation, I have used this item in my home to network several computers. I have used the tp link home plug with this unit as well, and overall I have never had a problem with any of the companies products. I leave this product switched on 24/7 and not a single problem has arisen.
I needed more Ethernet ports than my router offered and this expanded it brilliantly.

Summary: Great bit of kit (a bit like an 7 gang extension lead but for ethernet plugs!). Only downside - i wish the input feed from the router was in the back - so you had 8 free ports in the front and you knew which cable was your internet feed! I know people use the unit for different setups but an extra socket (or one of the 8) in the back wouldnt have hurt.
Summary: I replaced a zyxel switch which was constantly failing with this. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0091QN5FQ/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_hst_2) As expected it's "just worked" since it was setup. I was originally a bit worried about the size and from facing ports, but now it sits in nicely on the bookshelf where I have my access point and router.
Summary: I bought this switch to replace the TP Link 8 Port Desktop Switch (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000N9B688/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_img_sol_6) in my home rack as I wanted something mountable. The switch comes with brackets which turns it into a standard 1U 19" mountable switch. The transformer is also inside the switch, so a standard IEC cable can power it (included).
Summary: Does what it says on the tin. I've bought the metal netgear switches in the past but I was tempted by the tp-link due to lower prices and good reviews. It has been great and provided good performance on my gigabit home network since I purchased it. The integral power supply (no external power brick needed) is a nice feature and gives the product a quality feel. A good purchase, recommended.
Summary: Sturdy in metal, with the optional rack mounting "wings" which allows it to sit in a 19" rack. Works well supporting many PCs on a LAN with broadband and a printer. Plug and Play installation.
