Summary: I purchased another model and had some connection problems with it, so I ordered this one. It works great. I still had the connection problem, but I replaced the cable and now it works as it should. I could have saved a bunch of headaches if I had tried the cable first. TP-Link makes a ton of models. They are all great to my knowledge. But some are managed and some are not. This means that if you need to do management for the switch this model is not the one to get.
Summary: could not be simpler. I have wired a home network and connected to this switch via patch panel. It is currently running BT vision, PS3, a NAS drive laptop and router plugged in. Not tested the transfer speed but no issues at all.
Summary: This has been in use for well over a year now - having bought a WD My Book Live network attached storage with Gigabit Ethernet interface and having upgraded my PC's motherboard to one with Gigabit Ethernet I particularly wanted the two to communicate as fast as possible to speed up backups. This switch does the job. Power it up and away it goes, auto-sensing the speed of whatever's connected to it. What more can I say?
