Summary: Lasted 2 years. I had this go out, unexpectedly tonight at home. Sadly when you come to depend on a large switching mechanism with so many ports (I had 10 going constantly) when things go bad and they will (sooner or later) you run scrambling trying to figure out how to get the wired parts of your...
Summary: I'm using this to drive 15 PoE cameras on my home security system. I actually modified two, for more capacity. Diassembly of the unit is easy, and with beginner soldering skills, the underside of the RJ45 jacks can modified to provide power to each of the ports.
Pros: Small, lightweight, easy to mount, and easy to modify
Summary: Would not recommend for anyone who needs a 24/7 flawless solution, you would be lucky if this thing runs for a few days without giving you a head-ache, the down-time from this hub has cost me over 450$ in potential profit, browsing now for a better more expensive solution.
Pros: A lot of ports Cheap Black Runs Cold Wall Mount Cheap Cheap Cheap Not really made good enough to use all 16 ports 24/7. Should run fine if you only have 5~6 ports in use... which kind of makes it pointless.
Cons: I have 4 of these. Only one is working flawlessly. The other 3 work fine for a few hours, then suddenly half the ports will cause an un-identified network problem and disconnect the computers, the only way to fix it is to unplug the hub for an hour and then plug it back in for some reason....... ...
Summary: As you can see from the pictures, the LED's are on the front of the unit, and the ports are on the back - it's a desktop switch, not a rack type. There are no rack ears included. I would recommend for desktop use, and I am buying two more for the school.
Pros: I have one of these hubs installed in a school lab setting. All 16 ports in use, and getting hard use for several months without any problems. It runs only slightly warm to the touch.
Cons: The LED's only indicate a connection. They are not different colors for different connection speeds like some other switches, if you care about that sort of thing.
Summary: I bought this to give my dorm room a few extra Ethernet ports and I have to say that it works perfectly! Setup was simple, plug everything in, plug in the power, and away you go! I would definitely recommenced this product to anyone who need it!
