Not cool at all

Tom C, Amazon
3 July 2015
  • Summary: When I bought this the Pantech UML290 was listed as a supported device, and of course that is why I bought this. It has never worked with stability with the UML290 and I see that TP-Link no longer lists the UML290 as a supported device. Not cool at all.

Mediocre power

I. Kaye "Healthcop", Amazon
21 April 2014
  • Summary: Connecting is smooth and operation so far is acceptable. The big bunny antennas are there because the transmit power is so low, you will need a repeater for the next room plus one. Unless your budget dictates this low end, go with the mainstream routers.

probably great, but it wouldn't connect with vodacom in Tanzania

J. Snyder, Amazon
12 April 2014
  • Summary: There were a number of international options, but nothing for Tanzania. I had to take it there and try it out to even found out. Called tech support and they couldn't help. BUT, Amazon return policy for Prime customers is absolutely amazing!!!! 5 STARS!

It's a lemon :(

inboxutah, Amazon
9 May 2013
  • Summary: Was excited to get this as part of system upgrade I was doing on my electronic devices for my home. This wireless has weak signal range, nothing like it states on ad. Drops signal several times a day and has to be powered off and back on again :( Already looking for another brand of wireless to...

does not work with common usb modems

rootleaf, Amazon
28 August 2012
  • Summary: Did not work for me had to return it. It was ot compatible with a common sprint USB modem. If you goto their compatibility list their compatibility list for most modems is slim. Wish it could have been compatible, was a nice looking unit. And the interface seemed very user friendly.

Compatibility Decreased

sligett, Amazon
28 August 2012
  • Summary: I bought this to try with my MiFI 2200 even though it wasn't listed as a compatible 3g modem. Well, with the shipping firmware, it worked a little bit (i.e. slowly). Then when I set options I wanted to use, it got worse.

Worked well (briefly)

Robert Hinojosa, Amazon
27 August 2012
  • Summary: I used this with an AT&T Sierra Wireless 313U, and after some initial difficulty, was able to get it setup to share the LTE connection out as an in-car hotspot. There were times during the first day of use when the USB port seemed to reset at random, requiring a reboot to recover and on day two, the...

Could not get it to work with Novatel 760 3G modem

Slim Chance, Amazon
27 August 2012
  • Summary: Could not get it to work with the Verizon/Novatel 760 even though this modem is on the supported list. Worked with TP-Link support by email and tried four different firmware codes (two betas); no joy; sending it back.

It looks like a great router for the general home user just didn't support my wireless modem.

Matt, Amazon
27 August 2012
  • Summary: It didn't support my model of modem which was hard to find until I received the unit. It is deceiving when they advertise many modems but in reality it is only a few.
