Summary: I'm using a Huawei E303 USB modem with this router here in Afghanistan with Etisalat as my ISP.
Pros: It works when not disconnected
Cons: I've had instances where 5-6 times/day it would randomly disconnect and sit there "connecting". Only way to remedy is to reboot the router (which is frustrating). Upgraded the firmware thinking that it would solve the issue but unfortunately it still disconnects. Connecting the USB modem directly to the PC is the only way I can surf the net without interruptions. Wish I could return it but I'm pass the 30 day grace period.
Summary: It should be noted that I received version 2.3 of this device whereas the advert says 1.0. It is important people know this as 1.0 is not compatible with LTE 4G devices where as the version I received is, which is good! Its still compatible with 3G modems too!
Excerpt: I got this router primarily so I could use my new Chromebook which uses only wi-fi. Once I figured out the setup wasn't as hard as it at first looked, I was online in no time. Have had no problems. It's fast, the connections are solid. Only con so far is that this old nurd can't tell how fast the ones and zeros are flowing because that data doesn't get passed on to the modem's software - but who cares! It work like it "should had autta.
Summary: Good value for a cheapie. New swoopy case unlike illustration on this page. Took minutes to identify Huawei 3G modems but solid after that. Daylight savings setting won’t work correctly for southern hemisphere. Otherwise pretty solid.
Summary: Hopefully we will be able to return it and exchange. I'm willing to give them another shot at customer satisfaction. I am concerned about the return, however, as I didn't keep "all the packaging materials". I am afraid I'll have to purchase another one and the "policy" won't allow an exchange given the lack of packaging materials I retained. In that case you can probably guess which brand of router I will avoid.
Pros: When first connected it worked as advertised. Secure and fast. Easy to connect with multiple devices. We were very happy, initially.
Cons: After about 45 days it would lose connection to the internet. We were constantly re-setting the router. We finally took it off and put our old D-Link router back on. It's a bit of a dinosaur, but at least it's dependable and maintains connection. In the 3 years we've owned that router, we never once had to re-set it to reconnect. The modem, yes, the old router, no. The hassle to go through with securing an exchange and/or refund is always frustrating and time consumin...
