Pros: I had a Netgear 3G router and for the past few months all it's ever done is lose my 3G internet connection constantly. Finally got fed up, found this one on here. Saw it had a good rating, and for the price ($34.99) I said what the heck. Works amazing! Hasn't dropped the connection yet and the speed is as fast as if it was hooked into my laptop directly. Setup of was easy, pretty much plug in and go if you dont want to change any security settings.
Cons: It takes a hair over 3 minutes (my netgear took about 50 seconds) for the router to identify my 3G modem and connect online if rebooted or unplugged but I'll take that wait for a rock solid product!
Summary: The process of updating the firmware wasn't difficult, but the TP-Link website was painful to use and finding the proper download was more difficult than it should have been.
Pros: Easy setup.
Cons: I had to update the routers firmware to get it to recognize my Novatel 760 3g modem. The V760 _is_ on the TP-Links list of supported hardware, so a firmware update should not have been necessary.
Cons: TP-Link support stinks or I would give this 5 eggs. I called in because of compatability issues with my modem. (I didn't look at the compatible modems list before I ordered) I was told my modem would not work with this router. (see other thoughts)
Summary: Have waited for a while to review to make sure have used it enough, and it's working great. Not 5 stars, as seems rather cheaply built and doesn't look terribly sturdy (like so many things these days), but otherwise is working great and my laptop picks up the wifi signal in the furthest part of the house I can be in (albeit, I don't live in a mansion mind, it's still downstairs and to the rear of the house, and signal is full).
Summary: I would have given five stars except the transmission range is fairly poor, I live in an old bungalow and struggle to get a signal in the next room. Otherwise I have been very pleased with the router, It was very easy to install and setup, I just plugged my 3 dongle into the USB port and off it went. It could have done with a longer power lead as the positioning is vital for the dongle reception.
Summary: Pros: Easy to install with Micromax dongle. Plug and Play Good In same room. Cons: It is not good if you try to access from different room. Network show but Internet frequently disconnected. I am not sure if it is related to setup or router.
Summary: Once again excellent service from Flipkart. The router is a good one. My BSNL 3G card is detected very fast. It's working well. For some buyers who have problem with Data card : If you are experiencing frequent disconnection, it may be caused by Low signal strength or inadequate power to the data card. Try with active USB hub. I think active USB Hubs are not cheap.
Summary: I bought this to use instead of my awful Virgin router (putting the Virgin router into modem mode) but the wifi range is little better. What it allows is for the installation of an external antenna (I bought one for £3 off Ebay) which has improved matter significantly. I shall be using this on a campsite to create a wifi network for some Sonos music as well as using it with a 3G dongle for email access to our Nexus 7 and iPads.
Summary: I have bought this router from flipkart almost one month back. I was using this for that time and now I am reviewing. Pros:- 1)Set up is a breeze...I am using TATA PHOTON PLUS(CDMA Mobile broadband) and Huawei unlocked E366 for Reliance 3G mobile Broacdband...at first I installed Photon and using the net is so cool...even when I tried to install Reliance 3G USB it installed automatically... 2)There is WPS function 3)Cheap 4) Descent speed, but...
Summary: I can say this is good and cheap product to share the 3G dongle internet . It will be useful for future technologies like 4 G since it supports both 3G and 4 G dongle. Cons : low wifi coverage compare to other normal wifi router.
