Nice but difficult setup

Stephen Brenner, Amazon
1 December 2013
  • Summary: Works nicely tethering my nexus 7 to my Nikon D600 with dslrdashboard app. Setup was not plug and play. Documentation was lacking. There was some unofficial website info that helped.

Works as advertized

Mark, Amazon
9 July 2013
  • Summary: I needed a portable wi-fi for the cottage, where a USB cell modem is the only internet connection option. I chose this unit as it seemed very flexible - on the off season I can use it to connect a non-wi-fi enabled printer to my wireless network.

Very convenient.

RB, Amazon
25 June 2012
  • Summary: I just have had this router for few time, but I can say it is very convenient when you have only 3G usb modem for internet connection. If you do not have previous experience about wireless routers, you can spend some time during setup process, otherwise, you should not have any problem starting it...

Excellent Product

Timothy T., Newegg
29 November 2011
  • Summary: Highly recommended for anyone with a 3G access card who wants to network it with ease.
  • Pros: I had a Netgear 3G router and for the past few months all it's ever done is lose my 3G internet connection constantly. Finally got fed up, found this one on here. Saw it had a good rating, and for the price ($34.99) I said what the heck. Works amazing! Hasn't dropped the connection yet and the sp...
  • Cons: It takes a hair over 3 minutes (my netgear took about 50 seconds) for the router to identify my 3G modem and connect online if rebooted or unplugged but I'll take that wait for a rock solid product!

Long awaited solution

Charles M., Newegg
3 October 2011
  • Pros: Easy setup. Good configuration screens.
  • Cons: I had to update the routers firmware to get it to recognize my Novatel 760 3g modem. The V760 _is_ on the TP-Links list of supported hardware, so a firmware update should not have been necessary. The process of updating the firmware wasn't difficult, but the TP-Link website was painful to use and...

Nice product

Mr. Z., Newegg
22 August 2011
  • Summary: Despite what the compatability list says (and TP-Link support) it does support the Pantech UMW190VW 3G modem from Verizon with the latest firmware update which is available on their website.
  • Pros: Very nice product that works well (so far).
  • Cons: TP-Link support stinks or I would give this 5 eggs. I called in because of compatability issues with my modem. (I didn't look at the compatible modems list before I ordered) I was told my modem would not work with this router. (see other thoughts)
