Not connecting to WAN

Gulliver, Amazon
20 January 2013
  • Summary: The product does not work as described. I was not able to connect to the internet using WiFi nor a modem. The WiFI is an existing working network, but the router would not connect. The same with a modem.

Double DOA

tech4l1f3, Amazon
20 January 2013
  • Summary: Purchased 2 of these PoE injectors to go with a network I was setting up for a hotel. Both runs were about 250' so I needed a better injector then what came with the AP. These were rated at 100m wich would work for me since I had a 250' run to both AP's.

This step works fine - Next you have to connect to the router ...

Brandon, Amazon
20 January 2013
  • Summary: I had high hopes for this product since it has many favorable reviews around the web. However the simple setup instructions are wrong and the unit does not work out of the box. Getting it to work will require knowledge and experience with computer networking or a call to technical support (I reached...

Worked for about a week then died

Geekavenger, Amazon
20 January 2013
  • Summary: Worked for about a week with my Aruba 105 (ARU-IAP-105-US) then I saw a sudden speed drop on wireless off of the AP. After some troubleshooting and resetting the AP entirely I lost total connectivity to the AP. Fortunately I had access to a Cisco Power Injector and that did the job fine.

Do not use to power devices with a common ground

Kieran, Amazon
19 January 2013
  • Summary: This POE splitter has killed a Roku 2, an Onkyo AV receiver, and a Raspberry Pi. The "ground" voltage output by the splitter is at -48v, which when used to power my Roku shorted with the HDMI's ground and killed everything that was connected over HDMI. Thankfully my TV survived. Buyer beware.

Works as expected. Possibly the most obnoxious AC adapter I have ever used.

gfb, Amazon
19 January 2013
  • Summary: No complaints on the device itself, it works with no problems. The AC Adapter it comes with though, oh boy. Could they have designed something worse that still worked? Unlikely. This is one of those brick-style adapters which usually take up 2 spots on a power strip because of their size.

Perhaps there is a bad batch out there...

Kern Taylor, Amazon
19 January 2013
  • Summary: I'm very disappointed in the performance of this product. My use case is to provide PoE to a Cisco 89xx-series phone. I ordered 2. The first was dead-on-arrival. The second powered up the phone but would reset itself after the phone received a call (I think this is when the phone draws the most...

Does a hardware device reboot? - DOA

Jack Parks, Amazon
19 January 2013
  • Summary: Highly rated yet an under performer. Arrived DOA, but it looks like it is working. I had to put this on a managed switch to see that is never negotiates properly. I'm pretty sure it is rebooting, because the POE device keep rebooting. For $20 I was hoping for more.
