Get over those wireless problems - upgrade with this modem router!
5 December 2011
Summary: I had been having major problems with my previous modem router, which was a few years old. It had got to the stage where I could not really use a wireless connection any longer. I thought I had solved the problem by complaining to my ISP, who sent me a replacement. Unfortunately, this turned out to be even worse than my existing one. That made me wonder whether the modem router was the problem at all.
Summary: Bought this after two DLink routers failed after a couple of months use each. Reading reviews I saw this one recommended as cheap and effective and it certainly has been. Not one freeze since I installed a few weeks ago. The DLink's used to crash daily or even several times a day when traffic was heavy. The software setup was a breeze and best security implemented without a problem. Heartily recommend this product.
Summary: I purchased this router and it's been absolutely brilliant, it's 100% reliableand hasn't caused us any problems at all. Admitidly some more options within the firmware are available on other routers but if all you want is a reliable, constant wireless connection, this router is the best deal you're likely to find.
Summary: I had the original BT Home Hub which was giving poor wireless performance and kept dropping connections. I looked at various PC reviews which indicated TP-Link models as the best value for money replacement. Based on other Amazon reviews I bought this earlier model rather than the latest, and so far, no regrets at all. It was a doddle to set up (as long as you know the BT user name and password - leave the other settings as default) and it worked first time.
Summary: I had this product for a couple of months and have not had any problems if anything it has made it better at least another 1.5Mb. I did the installation via the routers interface webpage only so that I can setup it to the way I want it. Another reason I did not use the disk is because my desktop has a disk tray that is sideways and that the disk is UMD sized so can't put in it. I would recommend this product who wants fast reliable internet.
Summary: Bought this based on lack of reviews stating they'd had connection problems. I'd previously bought a Netgear router from PC world to get it that day and it failed miserably, I then checked on Amazon and loads of people had left reviews stating they'd had similar problems with the Netgear and it was one of the worst rated.
Summary: So far (after three weeks) the TP-Link has been reliable - providing a faultless and constant connection. My previous three routers were supplied as standard by internet providers. All were erratic and developed more problems over time, eventually becoming unusable. If the TP-link continues to perform at the current level then it will have been money well spent. Definitely a purchase I should have made long ago!
Summary: I was not to sure about seting this up myself but as it turned out it was easy. The range compare to my 54g modem router is much improved and faster dater transfer to boot.If you need better performance like me then this is well worth a try.
