Summary: Just over 6 months and mine failed as well. According to Netgear technical support the problem is with the original firmware, and is not a hardware issue. Although I did wait on hold for some time, I received exceptional customer support from the technician.

Summary: I bought this product over a year ago, and thanks to buying the extended warranty through netgear I still have a functional router in my house. Well... kinda... Over a year ago, I bought this and it worked perfectly. Within the year though, some ethernet slots went out.
Summary: Loved this device while it worked. Had it about 6 months and it died and had to get a new one. Seems that most netgear things have a very short work life. Got myself a Apple Extreme, and LOVE it, been working none stop since this one died.
