Summary: Mediocre LAN throughput and abysmal wifi reliability. Wireless radio had problems right from the start; would stop working a couple times each day and we'd have to restart it. Whole thing just stopped dead after less than a month of regular usage.
Summary: I purchased this router one year ago. Since then it has just died. I sent it back to Netgear and they sent me a new one. That took me offline for one week. Plus I had too pay for shipping the replacement router. That one died in about six months. That is two routers in less than twelve months.
Summary: TOL from long island was pretty much correct on his review. I just wanted to update that. The option to have it within 2 business days costs $29.90 instead of the price of the router. This router worked great for me up until 2 days ago when i received the dreaded green light.
Great overall -- until it died and I needed customer support

Summary: I got this router around the beginning of the year, and it had everything I wanted: good wireless speed and range (it streamed HD video smoothly over 802.11n) and 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports (for my Gigabit NAS storage and Apple Mac Mini).
Summary: Upsides: It's pretty. Seriously. Other routers look like something designed in Communist Russia, ugly, ugly, ugly. This is pretty, like my Apple Macbook is pretty. It looks very elegant sitting on the shelf above my computer desk. That's pretty much "it" for the upsides.
Summary: I and some of the people I consult with, bought about a dozen of the Netgear WNR854T routers. Bought them for the gigabit network support. They work great. But now that we have had them 13 months, we have had 3 hardware failures, just out of the 12 month warranty.
Summary: Same problem as many others. 5 months with no problems at all. Then it just stopped working and the power light stays on. I am waiting on my replacement and hopefully i won't have to return and post another comment in 5 months.
Not stable, troublesome in establishing connections.

Summary: Today, Oct 30 2007 our router died the "single green light" death, observed here by so many others. It is just out of warranty. I am glad to see that my primary warning about the "New Netgear Standard" found so many confirming voices. If we helped you to make a better router selection, I am glad.
