Summary: The Netgear RangeMax WNR854T was easy to set up and worked flawlessly for a couple of years, but it stopped working suddenly. My Netgear type b is still kicking, so it's not necessarily the company.
Summary: I gave it two stars for working for many years - I've actually had it for five years! But I woke up one morning with my newer windows os laptop which now automatically updates windows for me, and with the new windows updates during the night my Netgear router decided it isn't compatible anymore.
Summary: This product is seriously flawed. As has been said, no, I'm not a newbie, no I'm not particularly bitter or angry and I have no vendetta. That said - I was quite happy to get this product, as my prior G network had always been plagued by instability and interference.
Summary: I used my computer last night and went out for the evening. I came home and my router had bit the dust. I have had this router for 10 months. Add me to the list of unhappy campers. I will not bother trying to get Netgear to replace this product.
Summary: I purchased this router one year ago. Since then it has just died. I sent it back to Netgear and they sent me a new one. That took me offline for one week. Plus I had too pay for shipping the replacement router. That one died in about six months. That is two routers in less than twelve months.
Summary: TOL from long island was pretty much correct on his review. I just wanted to update that. The option to have it within 2 business days costs $29.90 instead of the price of the router. This router worked great for me up until 2 days ago when i received the dreaded green light.
Summary: Mediocre LAN throughput and abysmal wifi reliability. Wireless radio had problems right from the start; would stop working a couple times each day and we'd have to restart it. Whole thing just stopped dead after less than a month of regular usage.
Not stable, troublesome in establishing connections.

Summary: Today, Oct 30 2007 our router died the "single green light" death, observed here by so many others. It is just out of warranty. I am glad to see that my primary warning about the "New Netgear Standard" found so many confirming voices. If we helped you to make a better router selection, I am glad.
Summary: Same problem as many others. 5 months with no problems at all. Then it just stopped working and the power light stays on. I am waiting on my replacement and hopefully i won't have to return and post another comment in 5 months.
Great overall -- until it died and I needed customer support

Summary: I got this router around the beginning of the year, and it had everything I wanted: good wireless speed and range (it streamed HD video smoothly over 802.11n) and 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports (for my Gigabit NAS storage and Apple Mac Mini).
