Solid product with a few flaws...

Jeremy "usmc10803", Amazon
26 July 2011
  • Summary: I've owned this product since Dec 2009 and it has always worked flawlessly, until recently... the connection drops often (for the last few months) and finally over the last week it stopped working completely.

Good wireless N router

Rylan Fernandes "Rylan", Amazon
3 February 2011
  • Summary: I had a frustrating time getting a wireless N LAN setup for transferring files between my PCs. The transfer speed was much slower than I'd expected for a 300 Mbps connection - 1 megabyte per second. I tried three different wireless N routers (of different brands) and two USB wireless adapters.

Nice router - NOT A DSL MODEM though! Ads a bit misleading

William R. Shelnutt "Bill Shelnutt", Amazon
18 May 2010
  • Summary: Bought this router with the expectation from the write up and product description that it was a combination DSL Router/Modem AND Wireless N Router. As it turned out, it is ONLY the Wireless Router.

User Review

Matthew H., Newegg
5 March 2010
  • Summary: This router replaced a Westell 7500 DSL-Modem/router supplied by Verizon, which would not allow a firmware update, was a headache to set up for VPN, and would not work with my Xbox 360 (wired or wireless).
  • Pros: Easy setup of computers and consoles (Wii and Xbox 360) with full functionality. No messy tweaking required for VPN. My v2 came with the latest firmware already installed. Best router experience ever, just waiting for something to go wrong...
  • Cons: Not great signal 2 floors away from the router (3 floor townhouse with the router on the top floor) but still connecting with plenty of strength for surfing, gaming and streaming are great anywhere else in the house.

Good quality product

Anonymous, Newegg
2 March 2010
  • Summary: Good quality product, suited the purpose of what I needed it for.
  • Pros: good quality product, has wireless repeating option, Wireless N with Range Max, can support 54mbps to 300mbps. Interesting trafficing options.
  • Cons: Cheap plastic outer casing. Can't enable/disable certain wireless standards (B,G,N) instead you have 54mbps to support (BG) and 145mbps in overlapping areas and 300mbps (N). Some advanced options suited mainly for multimedia and gaming.

Great...when it works

T. Turner, Amazon
1 March 2010
  • Summary: My NETGEAR WNR3500 Wireless-N Gigabit router works well but I've had some quality issues. Namely, the wireless part stopped working. The installation was easy and I was up and running within a half hour (I'm no IT expert).

David L., Newegg
7 February 2010
  • Summary: I would like to see a router that has 8 ports instead of the usual 4 and a rf connector for an additional antenna. Don't buy this router retail!!! Newegg is the only way to go!!
  • Pros: Very Nice Router with good user interface and lots of options. Very light and runs cool. Had it running now for 3 months. I replaced my Linksys WRT54G with this one and then set the Linksys up as a second WAP.
  • Cons: None that I can see. The Wireless range is ok....Could be a little better. That was why I gave it 4 stars.
