Summary: I had a Linksys router that I constantly had to reset. I run a hostel and my hiker guests all have smartphones nowadays and this became a hassle resetting. With this netgear router right out of the box it worked flawlessly. There wasn't even a setup process in default, which was what I needed and everyone is happy. If you have a small office or a large house I'd recommend.
Pros: Has not dropped a signal since purchased 2 yrs ago. I live in a 5-bedroom house with 2 Laps, Dsktop, Printer/Scanner, X-box, and PS3 connected. Initial set-up was easy and Security was through. Running File Share between Dsktop and Laps.
Cons: Firmware V1. This WNR3500 is V2. Anybody have a suggestion besides contacting Netgear?
Excerpt: This is a cool addition to my 1000/100/10 network adapter. It is fast to connect wireless devices. It has a nice set of security. I like netger's reputation as a good company. This has dual band connection too. I would recommend this to anyone. I like the fast connect button that you don't need the password just push a button on the router to automatically connect devices wirelessly to the network. And you just log-in to the internet to change the settings of the router.
Excerpt: I was looking for a way to get my whole house set up for wirless internet without spending a bundle. I found this router and the salesman at Best Buy told me it would be easy and it was only $80. I took it home and read the instructions and then installed it using my existing internet service equipment. The entire set up took about 20 minutes and it covers the entire first floor of my home, since I have a ranch home with only one level it was perfect. I run my Wii,...
Excerpt: The first one purchased had little range. My laptop needed to sit right next to it to receive the signal. I returned it and the second is much better. We can move about 50 feet from it before the signal is lost.
Excerpt: I have used this for over a year and have had great luck with it. I live in an area that is hard to get service because of the location and Netgear has not failed me. I would recommend it to anyone. I also got a good deal for price so it is well worth it.
Excerpt: I like my Netgear WNR3500. For the most part, it keeps us connected to the outside world. Occasionally, it will drop the signal, but that might happen once a week and only for a moment or 2. I have tried other brands and they have were far worse at dropping the signal than this brand and particualr model. Do I reccomend this? Yes, I would. It has 2 encryptions and I do use both. It is very easy to set up and very easy to use.
