Look online for resources that will tell you what your needs are for various activities. For example if you are wanting to run your VOIP service or stream NetFlix the N300 is the lowest that you would want to go. Also, know that if you are looking at multiple people and devices on at the same time, you may want to jump to a N600 device.

My television "found" the router right away, and I was able to access the Internet via my television. The router has many more features than I know about. When I have a few leisure moments I will experiment with it to see what else it can do or ways in which I can tweak it.

Summary: It turned out excellent once I downloaded the Netgear Genie software. Before that, I couldn't get on the Internet so I had to use an old router first. Once the software was installed, the Internet connection was a breeze and it's been working great ever since. This may have been my fault initially.
Summary: I used this router for 14 days before it just completely stopped working. The Netgear tech support was a complete joke. After going through the steps, tech support decided that it was defective and needed to be replaced. I was put on hold, ten minutes later he came back on the line. Told me that this model is out of stock in the warehouse, and that I need to call back in 2-4 days to see if one is available then.
