Summary: Great router. I stuck in 2TB HDD. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars out of 5 are the following: 1) Sluggish Interface. 2) Wish the ports were positioned for a bit easier access. Other than the 2 things above, this is an awesome router and works great. I recommend you buy it in DISKLESS mode, and just add your own HDD, they are cheap enough these days.

Summary: Had a little trouble getting this thing to keep its wifi steady. I eventually fixed it by using the master reset so far i havnt had any further problems with it. its does exactly what i want it to do and im happy. best router ive gotten yet. :) however i don't recommend this for people that are less than novice in networking or total computer dinosaurs.
Summary: If you have an existing internet connected network, ignore most of what the installation guide says. If you have no use for the WAN port and do not need the DHCP, then you probably would want to use the wireless AP mode. this basically gives you a 5 port switch and a wireless Access Point. It took 3 calls and about 3 hours with tech support to get me to the "Netgear Genie".
Pros: Hardware itself is very good once you are able to get to the "Netgear Genie". The router has a DHCP server so it will generate a IP address for your computer. The router does exactly what I wanted by turning on the wireless AP mode. Can add a USB external disk and use it as a NAS.
Cons: Documentation included in the box is very for people with existing networks. It appears to be targeted to users setting up theor first network. The router I received had been on the self for over 15 months which may have been the cause of some of my problems. I do plan to install an internal disk because it would always spin and would cause an heat problem.
Summary: THE ROUTER IS GREAT, THE NETGEAR GENIE APP IS MOST TIMES HORRIBLE. THE ROUTER RELIABILITY HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONAL. YOU REALLY NEED TO MAKE THE GENIE APP MORE PROFESSIONALLY USER FRIENDLY WITH CONSISTENT ADJUSTABILITY.
Pros: After dropping wireless connections several times I was fed up with unit so started to play with settings and found that after setting the mode on 2.5k and 5 k to 217 I have had no more trouble with dropped wireless connection and speed is very fast. This has turned into a very good unit..
Cons: Had to play with settings. does not operate correctly at top speed settings.
Summary: It would be nice if NETGEAR would describe this in their quick guide.
Pros: I have owned this router for over 1 year. The setup was easy. It had been rock solid except for the discussion below.
Cons: The only con I have found is that when I have had to do a reset of the router I would lose my internet connection. So although the wireless was enabled I could not connect to the internet without first reloading the firmware. I have since found out that if I just recycle my cable modem while the Router is initializing then I am able to connect to the internet without having to reinstall the firmware. I found this in the NETGEAR genie. It has saved me several hours of ...
