Summary: I used this product to connect an older (non wireless) printer to my network and, for the most part, it works fine. However, maybe because I don't use the printer everyday, it loses connectivity. My only recourse is to unplug it and reset it. When I do that, it works fine for 2-3 days and then the cycle starts over.
Summary: To avoid using a proprietary Sony dongle ($80-100), I bought the WNCE2001 to connect my Sony BDP-S480 to my wireless network through an extender (Net Gear WN3000RP a very good device) to my router (Netgear DGND3300, also a very good device). I have two things to say: 1) once installed this device works extremely well, streams easily at high BSP rates. But.. and this is why the device should get one star. 2) Installation is a night-mare. I spent hours doing it.
Summary: I just hooked it up tonight and it seems to work great. No problems with the performance of the item. I am a little worried about the packaging and why the serial number was sharpied over it if it is a new product. I usually register my electronic equipment so I can get technical help when needed but I can't since the serial number is blacked out. Also the packaging is slightly suspect.
Summary: The good: I bought this because I needed a way to connect my ethernet enabled TV to my router when I moved the TV to a bedroom. I was very happy when I got this adapter since it was so compact and lightweight and could easily be stuck to the back of the TV away from sight. Since it's USB powered, I was able to plug it to the USB port on the TV to have the device turn on when the TV is on.
Summary: Overall this device works "okay" once you can get it connected to the router (cisco linksys). The "Push and Connect" feature doesn't necessarily work quickly or very well. This is where the fun comes in.. It can take hours for it to make that connection...I don't have problems with any other wireless devices in my home connecting and staying connected. But I can not say that about this adapter...
netgear wnce2001 v sony wifi dongle for bravia tv does not work
14 June 2011
Summary: I purchased NETGEAR WNCE2001 Universal WiFi Internet Adapter because I did web searches to see if it was compatible with my new sony bravia ex723. The opinion was that it would work. It does not work although I had a problem with mine where I had to hold the connection in for it to work. I had to return it and fair play to Amazon they fully refunded inc all freight charges.
Summary: Der Empfang ist in meiner Wohnung etwas grenzwertig. Es reicht gerade so. Im Vergleich zu der PS3, die direkt daneben steht, oder meinem Smartphone, ist die Empfangsstärke schwächer. Die Einrichtung über den PC hat gut geklappt.
