get a Wireless-N for about the same price, you'll be better off

maverickny, Ebay
18 October 2012
  • Summary: The WGT624 is a solid working wireless-G router with all the standard features, but many people are misled about some of it's features.. the router is capable of wireless rates upto 108mbps.. but only if you use a Netgear 108mbps adapter card on your computer.

No instructions for setup; prompt response from seller

Yiran, Amazon
2 April 2009
  • Summary: There is no instruction that comes with the router. The router was mailed in a big padded envelope, not a box. I used the reset button many times trying to set up the router but in vain.

Steven H., Newegg
4 September 2008

I had to restart this router about once a month on average, which was about half as often as my old Linksys.
  • Pros: Worked well most of the time. Got 108Mb connection to laptop downstairs.
  • Cons: The connection between the router and my DSL modem died suddenly after about a year and a half. I could get to the router setup, but not to the internet. After a fair amount of troubleshooting the modem (which was working fine and is at least 4 years old now) I realized it had to be the link port...

Dead at 2 years

Anonymous, Newegg
24 August 2008
  • Summary: I would avoid. For the price you can probably get a more reliable router that won't die on you in 2 years with only typical average use.
  • Pros: It worked fantastically for 2 years and then the wireless capability just died.
  • Cons: No amount of rebooting, resetting or reinstalling has revived it. The LAN still works, but WAN went away at exactly 2 years. Along the way it needed to be rebooted about once every 1-2 weeks to resync with the cable modem.
