No instructions for setup; prompt response from seller

Yiran, Amazon
2 April 2009
  • Summary: There is no instruction that comes with the router. The router was mailed in a big padded envelope, not a box. I used the reset button many times trying to set up the router but in vain.

Does not support both 108 Super G and 802.11g

Amazon
4 June 2008
  • Summary: This router has "auto 108" mode which should select either 108 Mbps or 54 Mbps depending on which type of WiFi card you have. This DOES NOT work! The WiFi card will always default to 54 Mbps mode even if you are only using NearGear's Super G 108 capable cards for WLAN.

Great When it Works, But Very Unstable

23V, Amazon
22 May 2008
  • Summary: The Netgear WGT624 router is a great router for home use, especially in a home with both wired and wireless PCs. I use mine with an IBM ThinkPad using 802.11b wireless and two Power Mac G4 towers connected via Ethernet. I also have a Brother laser printer connected wirelessly to the network.

Super-G causes serious interference issues

Royal, Amazon
21 January 2008
  • Summary: This router is nice as long as you don't have neighbors. The Atheros chip that Super-G is based on has a nasty design "feature" where it uses all 11 channels of 802.11 spectrum, causing problems for neighbors. My neighbor has it and we're trying to solve the interference.

Good...but not without problems

hrd2k, Amazon
1 July 2004
  • Summary: I purchased my WGT624 v2 from amazon.com. As soon as I pulled it out of the box it was constantly rebooting (dropping me off the internet both wired and wireless). I was able to fix it though and I will tell you how and what happened.
