Works good...sometimes!

sgboxer, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: My husband and I bought this router when we got our laptop. We wanted to be able to take the laptop around the house and also use our wireless printer. It worked great for a few months, then we couldn't get the Internet to work. So we unplugged the Internet cable from the router and plugged it directly into our desktop. The Internet was fine. So my husband re-installed the router again and hooked it back up at it worked just fine!

NetGear WGT624 Wireless Router

corndoon, Ebay
8 January 2011
  • Summary: I bought this used router because it was inexpensive and I was familiar with the NetGear name. I've installed it between my Comcast cable modem and my desktop PC and am using it to access the internet with my laptop. It was easy to set up and works well most of the time. But every now and then it simply disconnects and I have to reboot it.

Netgear Router

Overstock
11 December 2009
  • Summary: Router was received without the Installation Guide, the install CD and Owners Users Manual. as listed in the Package contents. Also the unit does not have a Serial #. The lack of these items made it very difficult to install and make work. I finally got it working with limited features, I could not register the unit with Netgear, due to no Serial #, or get help from them.

Worked for a bit

Soni T "Ed W", Amazon

  • Summary: I bought this item back in March and it worked great. The wireless was working well except for the occasional loss of signal. Now however the wireless does not work at all. It is now only a wired router. In the long run I would go with another router.

OK Cheap. OK for wired. But the worst in Wireless.

Mr Economist "ma-2006", Amazon

  • Summary: As a regular router, this is classic, beautiful, clean, and running well. BUt, once you start to be "wireless," that is, using the wireless rather than the wired connectivity, this router is very annoying. You lose connection for no reason. And you, all of a sudden, get it back. And, worse than all, you never understand WHY and HOW you lost (or gained back) the connectivity. Love wired (like me) then go for it. Love wireless? Forget about it.

A cheap but somewhat flaky wireless router

leonbev, epinions.com
19 November 2006
  • Summary: Avoid this router, and spend your money on a better and more stable model.
  • Pros: It's affordably priced, easy to find on sale at the moment, and it looks cool.
  • Cons: The router is not very stable, and you'll need a techie to configure it correctly.
