Excerpt: the router that came from my service provider. I don't know if that says a lot but it is better. The set up was without hassle and it doesn't look bad in a cylon kind of way...I would recommend it.
Excerpt: This router was fairly easy to set up but with a few exceptions. The instructions should be clearer, especially where it refers to a cable modem. In a condo, most people don't realize that they have one in a communication closet.
Excerpt: I went from a stand alone modem and router to this two in one and though I was skeptical, it has worked out well so far (only been a week so we will see). I enjoyed how easy it was to setup and if you have Comcast as and ISP, it will allow you to activate the device online without having to call...
Summary: We bought this because the modem the cable company gave us did not have a strong enough wireless signal for our whole house. The Netgear modem broadcasts a stronger signal. It is still weak in some parts of the house (3400 sq. ft.), but at least we can get a signal.
