Summary: Won't lock on connection and bandwidth varies excessively. The cable technician showed a steady 110 Mb/s on his specialty device, but this device varies between 15 and 45 Mb/s (on a 50 Mb/s limit). The connection light keeps blinking. Already had the 2.4ghz band wireless router glitch and not connect after only 3 days. I had to power reset it. The 5 GHz has been steady, but has reduced signal distance due to higher frequency.

Summary: I bought this as the Wireless Gateway router supplied by Comcast was dropping my connection all the time. Since installing the Netgear router I haven't had any dropped connections during use, but there does seem to be a delay when searching for the 5GHz network even when the device is close to the router.
Excerpt: Installation was easy, supporting documentation was clear, and performance was good. And then we discovered that our VPNs did not work. Some sources on the net said that the C3700 modem does not support vpn while others hinted that it did. The Netgear tech support person said it did not. We gave up and returned it.
Excerpt: Maybe I was expecting too much when I replaced my separate router and modem with this cable modem router. Having trouble with internet/network setting dropping often (in a small house). With my previous router it was easy to make changes & stay online. Software is not user friendly to me. When connection is working it is much faster and I hope I'm saving a little energy by having a single piece of equipment rather than 2.

Summary: Not worth the money.. I bought this for 130 dollars to replace the Xfinity router so I can save the 7 dollars monthly lease. Problem is that this tiny router (half the size of the Xfinity router) doesn't provide the same speed and same area coverage so the internet experience got worse. The spec of this one looks good only on paper so if you have a large 2 stories house and a basement this one is not good for you!! Better stay with Xfinity equipment...
Excerpt: I got this router as a replacement of Motorola SBG6580. Setup was easy with the help of Comcast support and admin tool. Huge issue keeping the connection stable, specially 5GHz. My main reason to buy this is the simultaneous dual band feature which is of huge disappointment to me from the moment I started using it.I was losing connection on 5GHz band while sitting next to the modem/router. I contacted Netgear customer support several times (phone as well as online chat).
5GHz issues...frankly, it frakking sucks for that. Works with Comcast Xfinity though so +1 star for that.

Summary: Holy cow horrendously poor in the 5GHz bands. I'm literally less than 20 feet from this thing, with a single wood wall in between and my signal in ANY channel of the 5GHz band is atrocious. There is only one other 5GHz router in the area and it's not near here so it should be smooth sailing, but this thing is so far a disappointing piece of cr4p.
I had a Netgear all in one 10 years ago and it was good so I went with them again

Summary: Bought this to replace a 3 year old Motorola modem and Cisco Wi-Fi router. Comcast said my modem needed to be updated, so I thought I'd splurge and get a new all-in-one device. I had a Netgear all in one 10 years ago and it was good so I went with them again. The selling point for this one compared to the others on the Comcast-compatible list was it says it's good for large homes. This was the top of the line on the compatible list.
Excerpt: Only option available at local store, was hoping for linksys or other national brand. Got item hooked up but local cable provider was unfamiliar with netgear and could not explain what I need to do to get WiFi wireless. Netgear also unable to make it happen. Am seriously looking to change item out. Range of WiFi on phones and other devices is very weak. Tech support in store was also subpar. Customer service left quite a but to be desired.
