Reliable gigabit switch, and reasonably priced.

Ryan Pomaski "TechnologyWhore", Amazon

  • Summary: Not certain what the other review is referring to.. This is a 24 port unmanaged 10/100/1000 switch. There is no Power over Ethernet (POE), but it does come with "ears" you can attach for rackmounting, and optional rubber feet if you're setting it on a desk.

Great Switch - Fast - No Maintenance

David Z., Newegg
31 May 2015
  • Pros: Easy to setup and use with no configuration. Less than 5 minutes from box to installed in rack and working.
  • Cons: Does not fit a wall rack with supplied power plug. I needed to purchase a right angle plug so the unit would fit into my wall mounted rack unit.

  • Excerpt: It is faster than the Netgear GS116 but as fast as the Dell switches made by Netgear. The price are different. This switch is great for the price but online or other stores you can find it cheaper. I was in a rush to get a new one since my old netgear GS116 died and i need one ASAP.

A real problem

Garrett M., Newegg
27 January 2015
  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: Unbelievably glitchy piece of equipment. After installing this switch we observed serious degradation of network throughput and traced it to this unit. As far as I'm concerned it is broken, seriously broken.

The Perfect Switch

David C, Staples
28 December 2014
  • Excerpt: The Netgear ProSafe 24 port Switch is one of the best switches I have ever bought. All you have to do is plug the power cord in. Then plug in the Patch cord to your modem from the switch. Then you are able to use any port on the switch you want without programing. In other words PLUG and PLAY!
