Summary: For around $80, this is a great little switch. I have it mounted to the back of my entertainment center, and powered via PoE from my main switch. It's nice to be able to eliminate an extra cable back there since it's so crowded already.
Summary: For the price this thing is awesome. We're a Cisco shop through and through but inevitably end up needing some small workgroup switches at some branches. With this need, fear number one is users creating loops, but this switch runs STP....check Also, we want management from across the WAN...
Pros: - VLAN upport - STP support - etherchannel support (incl. LACP) - QOS - SNMP, NTP, port security, Layer 2 ACLs - Dead silent - MORE
Cons: Could only be made better by adding a CLI, but it would probably suck anyway
Excerpt: Nice sturdy METAL construction case with bright LED activity lights for each of the ports. Simple to install just follow the instructions or use the CD with the information on it. Just plug and play with the switch to your router and your good to go!.
Summary: I use this with my Synology DS1512+ to do link aggregation. The transfer speeds on a wired connection are noticeably faster. The setup is essentially automatic. I also used this to hard wire my entertainment system (as opposed to going wireless).
Summary: I bought this to increase the throughput of a few workstations to my local server. It worked beautifully turned on teaming on the work stations and the switch picked it right up. This setup and switch are a bit over board for my needs but for the price having a little bit of breathing room is more...
Pros: Fast switch easy setup.
Cons: Software is obstinate as to what folders it wants to use. This would not be a problem for most but I was changing the access to folders on the workstation at the time and the software refused to work with me IE installing on a different drive that had the access it was looking for.
