Excerpt: This is a great product. It's got a lot of "enterprise" features at a consumer/SOHO price. I've owned three of these for around two years, with no failures or burnouts so far. Key features include VLANs, settable port speeds, SNMP bandwidth and error tracking, PoE powered device as an option (you can power it with PoE). How are these features useful? Situation: Two tenants, one LAN, one internet connection. Solution: VLANs.
Excerpt: Great little switch. We have over 15 of these deployed in our network closets. Low failure rate, high pass thru, jumbo packets, and, a metal case that won't degrade in enclosed environments in the summer sun. Throw in the GUI and it works. The T-200 version is much more robust than is smaller siblings in the 108 line which do a less than perfect job of handling the traffic.
Summary: I've deployed three of these, and like them. They're good for small and medium sized networks that use VLANs. They work fine with HP and Cisco managed switches. What's a VLAN? It's a technology that makes a single physical LAN operate like more than one physical LAN, by separating groups of ports into a "virtual LAN".
Great build, great quality, just an all around great product!~

Summary: Awesome product and extremely low defect rate. Over the last year I have purchased 700+ of these with a current DOA rate of .1% and a failure rate outside of DOAs at .25%. Great low cost, metal cased switch!
Excerpt: Was able to easily implement this into my existing network to expand it's capacity, as well as to facilitate a move to 10/100/1000 speeds from the previous 10/100 switch. Setup was simple, and the available features were surprising.
Pros: Compact, Consistent Performance, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use
Excerpt: I work from home, and also stream video to home appliances...this switch supports VLANS, and so I can use it with my WNR 3700, seperating streaming from working networks, at an affordable price.
Pros: Compact, Consistent Performance, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, VLAN support
Overall, a great little switch, especially for the money!

Summary: This is really quite a fine little switch for the above-average home network or very small business network, especially given its fairly low price. I use it at home, primarily because I was looking for a switch that can handle 802.1q tags, and this little guy does that as well as some other features not found on your average switch.
