Plug and go

  • Excerpt: I replaced a very old router. Tied this one into a system with Apple wireless, Dynex 4 port hub, TimeWarner cable/phone/internet and it worked perfectly! Literally just plugged everything into to it and bingo! And it will be a while before this is outdated. Well worth the money!

Much more then I hoped for.

  • Excerpt: I was expecting a flimsy design like some other switches that I have seen. This one turned out to be a smaller version of commercial switches I have worked with. It is a sturdy metal design and feels like it is a quality product. It has been functioning very well so far with all ports in use for days at a time. I also like the option of setting it to a managed or unmanaged switch.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy To Set Up

Managed Gig Switch for this price? I should have bought Two!

Josh, memoryexpress.com
19 May 2012
  • Summary: I've been looking to upgrade my internal home network, and found this while poking around at mem ex after a few minutes of research I grabbed it and wow, I used to get stutter occasionally from my network shares to my Boxee not anymore! Great to finally pull all my internal network traffic off of my Router and put it on a nice internal Managed switch.
  • Pros: Managed Line testing. Power Savings QOS Auto DoS protection
  • Cons: None So Far.

NETGEAR ProSafe Plus 8 Port Gigabit Switch

Octavius, misco.co.uk
13 February 2012
  • Summary: Although this device has more facilities than Netgear's basic FS108 switch, it is of similar size and design so upgrading is straightforward. You must also replace the power supply as the operating voltage is different. I was pleased to see that my MISCO refurbished HP DC7600 PC switched automatically to Gigabit speed as did my Buffalo TeraStation, demonstrating that the switch can operate with mixed speeds.

Solid

Matthew, memoryexpress.com
10 October 2011
  • Summary: I own two for wiring entire home for gigabit. IF additional capacity needed, will buy more of these.
  • Pros: Sturdy, metal & truly rectangular. Power strip / outlet friendly power adapter. Good LED setup. No faults or strange behaviour experienced. Good learning tool.
  • Cons: Can't think of any. Just be aware that like a lot of commercial grade stuff. The rj45 jacks are on the front with the LED's making it a bit untidy to set on a desk but then how many would connect 8 utp connected devices on a desk / counter top.
