Excerpt: I use this with three laptops and a Qnap TS231 NAS for mobile downloading of large files from USB devices. (60 GB) I know very little about network setup but this was about as simple as you might imagine. It works well and allows three sources to transfer as fast as USB 2.0 will push data.
Summary: A PC connected to "picky" ethernet port connected at gigabit speed.
Pros: Gigabit speed. Small form factor. Lifetime warranty. Have been using for almost 6 months and is very fast for gigabit wired networking.
Cons: Was having trouble getting Xbox 360 to connect at faster than 10mbps. Moving ethernet cable to different port on this Netgear switch resolved the issue and connected at 100mbps. Hope this helps other people having this problem. Switch should not be this picky for speed auto negotiation.
Excerpt: Easy setup but lacks mounting options for a residential structured wiring cabinet. Instructions are pretty much graphics and the text FAILS TO MENTION THE LIGHT THAT IS ON FOR MERELY ATTACHING AN ETHERNET DEVICE.
Excerpt: This is a solid unit. It is small, well-made and fast. One nice touch is the power adapter... it is angled to the side when it is plugged in, so it is more power strip friendly and doesn't block other outlets on the power strip. I wish more devices would do that.
