Excerpt: We needed an inexpensive gigabyte switch with a very small footprint for our shared office printers. This Netgear switch delivers. Its price is more then reasonable. The size is perfect for someone where space is at a premium - it can be hidden in a very small space or even under a copier or table. The speed is great. In addition, the number of ports is good.
Excerpt: Switch was used in the creation of a test lab. We had a layer3 switch with Gigabit copper gbics, that only spoke 1000mb. so I needed a small switch that would be able to connect to the layer 3 switch.
Excerpt: This was a great solution to my problem. I had to connect my DVR and ROKU to the internet but only had one Ethernet outlet, this switch was the answer. I still have three spare ports for future expansion.
Summary: Not much to be disappointed with this product. Simple switch connections, just plug in the unit to AC power, and then connect the LAN cables. Ready to go in seconds. Hard wiring is always superior to Wi-Fi connections. Run one cable to the unit and then connect five devices for an instant network. In my case it's two computers, Vizio Smart TV, PS3, and a printer. Up and running as fast as the cables snapped into place.
