Worst Router Ever

Jamie Dainton, Amazon
26 October 2011
  • Summary: I bought this for our office to hook up to a 15Mb leased line and to it's credit it was easy to configure and appeared functional. However, the faults are severe and are still present with the latest firmware. 1) Throughput is poor even without VPN being used. 2) The device is unreliable and requires daily or twice daily reboots.

Not fit for purpose

J. A. Fannon "gisgeezer", Amazon
12 January 2009
  • Summary: I purchased the FVS318 v3 to enable VPN access to our network. However, after a couple of weeks messing about and calls to technical support we STILL haven't been able to get the Netgear VPN Client to connect to the router. Netgear have even tested this in house and could not get their VPN client to connect. The second problem is that, despite being a UK device, it does not support PPPoA (used by UK ADSL).
