Summary: I have installed Blue Iris on a PC, managing a 4 camera Foscam system (a 9821V2, and three 8904 cameras). Many Blue Iris software supplied system management functions are being used, along with the configurability and control of the cameras, with great success. The system has been up and running for a month now, with solid reliability. The 9821 is wireless, and the three 8904 cameras are connected through ethernet cable to a Lynksys E2500 router and Netgear Hub.
Summary: I had a router that had 4 ethernet ports but as I continue to add additional items to my home network I found I needed more. This eight port ethernet switch does the job. At the time I purchased, included a rebate so was an even greater value than the regular price. Wi-Fi is great in the home but for items you can hardwire, I highly recommend it.
Summary: I needed more ports under the TV; internet connected devices seem to multiply on their own. This device uses the same power block so all I had to do was unplug the Cat5 cables and power plug from the old one and plug in the new one. Same footprint, same function...just great.
