Summary: Excellent 8 port switch. I have used Netgear products for years and they just do not disappoint. This one was inexpensive because it came without a power supply [this fact was in the eBay listing]. Had to obtain a power supply & got one on eBay for about $5 all in for the PS. Unit works perfectly. Just what I need to replace the Netgear 4 port switch that I outgrew.
Summary: The switch works great. I just plugged it in and it negotiated a connection with the router as advertised. I highly recommend this switch to anyone that needs to expand their small office/home office beyond the limits of their SOHO router.
Summary: I was wanting a gigabit switch, but they are just way overpriced. This was a great price after rebate, so I pulled the trigger. What is there to say for a switch? It works for my home network. I transfer data files for backups, stream movies and audio, and slideshows, share single internet connection, all without issues. This is even with runs about 50-feet, as it sits in a server closet in the opposite side of my house.
Pros: 8-ports is better than 5-ports; sleek looking; compact power-supply; silent
Summary: This was an extremely easy switch to set up. I never had to install any software. Just plug it into the router and add network items to the switch. Eight ports is a nice bump from the four found on a typical router. The unit is small and attractive. All in all a very nice unit for a reasonable cost.
Summary: I paid the extra money for this version because the prior version (without NA) was rated 2.5 out of 5.0. The main complain on the prior version was the power brick was flimsy and stopped working rather quickly. I have the FS116 (metal version) and it's power supply is very similar to this one. I really wonder if they have downgraded the power brick since prior review have been done. Also someone had said the switch can be mounted but that really isn't true.
Pros: Works as of now. Pretty.
Cons: It cannot be mounted like its predecessor. The power supply doesn't seem that much more robust.
Summary: The switch was ordered via NewEgg, which had one of the best bottom-line prices from PriceGrabber. It arrived a day earlier than promised with the free shipping. The unit worked out of the box and was trivial to set up. Performance appeared to be very good on the network. The unit looks pretty good, is reasonably sized and does not run hot. The only downside is that the switch is a bit larger than other 8-port switches and it has to sit horizontally.
