Summary: I bought this NetGear switch to provide additional network feeds for adding additional IP cameras for my security system. If I didn't like the product I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place, yes I like the product and there are no dislikes for this purchase. The NetGear products are generally satisfactory and I did not expect any issues at all when I purchased it. I would not have purchased any other brand as I have had excellent experiences with the NetGear.
Summary: If a nice little switch is what you want, then this is the switch for you. Sturdy metal case. I have had several of these switches with good results for all of them. While a little more expensive than the Netgear white plastic body switches, I have had failures with them. So that is why I switched to the Netgear 5 port metal switch instead.
Summary: I needed the switch for a home office. The product was an inexpensive answer to provide me the extra connection I needed. This switch is preforming well. I have not used other switches so I can’t offer a comparison.
Summary: I only had four ports on my wireless router and wanted to add an IP camera. I took this switch out of the box, plugged in a couple cables, and it worked great, no hassle. The LEDs show traffic and the metal case is nice too.

Excerpt: I bought the NetGear ProSafe FS105 10/100 Desktop Switch for my small network at home. I have 3 computers to hook to the internet and only one DSL router to do it with. It can produce up to 100/Mbs but only with the proper software on your systems. Even running at 10/Mbs, which is what I run from my computer and with the DSL my internet literally flies with little to no "lag" time.
