Speeded up my DSL from the old modem and what a price !

sjmelena, Ebay
7 October 2014
  • Summary: My ISP recently switched from 5Mbps to 10Mbps for the standard rate. I found I wasn't even getting the 5Mbps. The techs suggested changing out the modem. Of course you can pay for the ISPs modem for the rest of your life or buy one. I ended up buying three of these. One for my DSL line, a backup and one for a neighbor. They worked perfectly. I use them in the transparent mode but they also can work as a router, but not wireless.

Netgear DM111P

Tom, OzCableguy
10 September 2014
  • Summary: I just want to say that despite all of the other comments, this modem is great. If any of those other users knew anything about their internet they would know its not the modem’s fault. All those dropouts and problems people get and comment on here are a result of the lines going to the modem and other external factors.

Netgear DM111P

Peter, OzCableguy
22 May 2012
  • Summary: I bought two of these (May 08 and Apr 09). Both ran very hot, would slow down and drop out regularly. One failed a few months ago and now the other has died.

Good modem, I would buy a new one. Not refurbished.

  • Summary: Seems to be a pretty good modem, but it likes to disconnect itself from the internet. The only way to access it and make it work again is to turn it off for a minute and then on again. Otherwise works really well.

Just needed a modem for DSL ATT!

jnscscpwan232, Ebay
7 June 2011
  • Summary: There are endless routers to suit the needs of everyone but very limited choices when it comes to modem. I have ATT DSL and I strongly dislike their standard modem. I have tried modem/router combo but their life span is questionable. Needed a basic modem so I can connect whatever router I want without much trouble and this one worked for me. For DSL service, if your having trouble getting it to work, might have to call them and ask for settings and login/pw for your DSL.

Netgear DM111P

John, OzCableguy
22 April 2011
  • Summary: Just bought this to replace a Draytek 120 that had would no longer hold sync. The DM111P had poor line speeds compared to an old Netgear DG834PN. The old Netgear one was getting 10864 kbps. This modem would not connect any faster than 8096 despite several tries.

  • Summary: Works with Acanac insantly. Cute & Small dsl modem. Very easy to use. Works great with Acanac. It's refurbished but the unit looks brand new and sealed in bag. Great deal. Best DSL modem I ever used. Come with a free DSL filter too.

Seems OK, except for the random reset.

jeffrbrown2003, Ebay
24 December 2010
  • Summary: This router seemed to disconnect during daylight hours while I was using it. This was unexpected behavior. I will continue to use the item unless it resets itself again, at which point I will put in the closet and purchase a more reliable item.
