Summary: Only an OK, because all works well, apart from the fact that if you have a Sonos system, this'll bring the network to it's knees ! Went through everything with the extremely helpful Sonos support (forget Netgear), changing the main wired Sonos device (rest off, with nowt else on the network, save a PC) and still the internet connection dropped in and out. Other Sonos users have had similar experiences, do a search (wish I had).
Great router with current firmware... spoiled only by what is missing
Western Infidel, Amazon
15 July 2014
Summary: Purchased several months ago, but after purchase read some horrible feedback so i sat it out and waited for firmware updates. Finally took it out of the box last weekend and set it up, installed latest firmware and couldnt be happier. Easiest Netgear Router to setup that ive come across, but still gives access to advanced settings and features. Wifi signal excellent all around the house on both bands, have so much Wifi now im spoiled for choice.
Summary: Unfortunately, this didn't work for me, not because it was faulty, but because we have BT Infinity and this unit doesn't work with VDSL broadband. i have sent it back to Amazon and have ordered the Asus DSL-N66U. Let's hope that one does the trick.
Netgear D6300 802.11ac Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem Router
1 August 2013
Summary: This looked to be a promising bit of kit as I have a sprawling flat and required something to punch the wireless through the walls to the furthest extent of the building and this looked to fit the picture. My stock router was a Sagem supplied by Sky and it just wasn't powerful enough so after looking into this a bit I decided to take the plunge. The unit itself seemed quite well made if not discrete but I would rather performance than looks so that was fine.
Summary: I felt a bit guilty splashing out for a high-end router but figured that it would be worth it for the future and as my 6 year old Netgear's wireless was starting to play up I had to do something. In short, I wasn't blown away by the supposedly much more powerful signal etc although it may be unfair to compare when I don't have any 802.11ac capable devices.
