DO NOT USE READYSHARE CAPABILITY - HDD DAMAGE!!

  • Summary: I have been using this as a wireless/wired hub and ADSL router and the performance for this function has been good. However, I also specifically purchased this device for the ReadySHARE capability, and whilst this has worked most of the time it has caused expensive damage and data loss to 3 different hard drives.

Dead after two and a half months

  • Summary: I changed my ISP who provided me with a preconfigured Technicolor router. It seemed to lag and the range was poor so I decided to splash out on something really good. Was I mistaken - yes. My speed has improved a little - marginally and my pings have decreased - marginally, but the range is less than my 7 year old Belkin. Really really poor. I am now looking to buy a wireless access point so that I can stream video in my living room. Very very disappointed.

Second unit failed after five days operation

  • Summary: I've had two of these now, and had to return both as faulty. On the first occasion the unit was working fine, but after 30 days, just powered off, and then would not power back on at all, even after hitting the reset button. Amazon offered to replace with another and I accepted this, and that was great service. However, the replacement second unit only lasted five days, then the same strange power off happened, and no way of turning it back on.

At best a bad batch at worst utter rubbish

  • Summary: Tried 2 of these which were returned to Amazon (well done Amazon !) Could not access the configuration GUI from 3 hard wired devices even though they would ping it successfully. Netgear genie is a real wizard - never appeared !! Even 3 hours with Netgear support couldn't get a result.

Only supports a pay to use DNS service

  • Summary: At the time of writing I had just forked out a whopping £145 for this router and it only supports the PAY to use DNS service called DynDNS. I guess Netgear are getting a backhander to not allow the wider ranger of providers I am used to seeing on cheaper router(some free shock horror). Really obvious and disappointing money grabbing practice. A slap in the face for people who have already shelled out large amount just to buy the box. Boohoo!

Continually drops ADSL connection

  • Summary: Worst router ever. Continually drops ADSL connection while viewing pages on the internet. I have to power down the router & power up to reboot. Takes about a minute before back online. There has been 2 firmware upgrades but they have not helped.

Doesn't work!

  • Summary: This product fails on my PPPOA LLC 1/50 ADSL2+ connection. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't. When it connects, it fails to forward DNS details and attached devices can't access the internet

Not a good router!

  • Summary: I bought this router to have an all singing all dancing box an upgrade from my BT router. This is not the solution! It drops out all the time, printing is an issue and the 5G is a waste of space no range at all. I cannot recommend this product.

Don't buy it!

  • Summary: I purchased 2 of these D6300 modem routers and both failed to work. I spent over 1 hr to my ISP who decided the device was not working before then contacting Netgear support themselves. I spent over 2hrs on the phone to them to find out that they too considered the devices to not be working. Just at the end when they placed me on hold to investigate whether the two devices came from the same production batch I was cut off.
