Summary: Despite many negative reviews I chose to take a chance on it. So far I have an excellent experience. Usual CISCO's easy to navigate setting up options and (so far) flawless performance is a delight. Another distinguishing mark is X3500's feature richness. My two old Linksys products, EA6500 and WAG325N were also very good in the beginning but after a couple of years of use, started to drop connection. I hope X3500 does better.
Summary: First, my personal computer setup: I have a windows 7 PC, which I just connect directly to the router. There are also several PCs scattered around the house, all running various types of Linux (Mostly Mint Debian). There's also a Playstation 3, a tablet computer and a smartphone. And basically, it all 'just works'. Apart from the number of devices, I'm not trying to do anything out-of-the-ordinary or fancy with my network, and I've no complaints about this router at all.
