Nice Router For The Home Etc...

208orchard, Ebay
5 February 2011
  • Summary: I bought this router as a refurbished Linksys product here on E-Bay and it was a very good deal. I had read reviews of the WRT610N that were both favorable and unfavorable so I thought with a price this good I would give it a try in my home network setup. My router is mounted under the staircase to my basement using the very handy built in wall mounting slots and a couple of wood screws. One of the negatives I had read about was hot running.

Linksys WRT610N

bigfootlittleshoes, Ebay
27 November 2010
  • Summary: The Pros: The connectivity is reliable. The signal strength is good (on the 2.4 Ghz band, but not on the 5Ghz band). The web interface is easy to use. I hooked up an external hard drive to the USB port and turned on the media server. That worked nice. I like the Wireless N capability although I am only getting 144 Mbs speeds. Its very sleek looking. I like that it has wired Gigabit performance. The Cons: The 5Ghz band put out a very weak signal.

Excellent Router for the Advance User

amakint, Ebay
2 October 2010
  • Summary: This router is great for gaming and setting up multiple wireless devices, but it is a bit over priced for the basic network user. I upgraded my network from a Linksys WRT150N router, thinking that this would be a major improvement. I was wrong. The WRT610N router did give me a stronger signal strengths, but unless you have an wireless N adapter on every device you are connecting to your network; you will not be able to fully utilize the dual frequency technology.

Good simultaneous dual-band wireless router

OpeeTaylor, Amazon
21 November 2009
  • Summary: Pros: Never drops connection. Gigabit wired ethernet ports. Simultaneous dual-band allows for separating bandwidth for different purposes. 5Ghz band is great for media streaming, while the 2.4Ghz band can be used for general web surfing or other purposes. If you have guests and don't want to give them your security settings, you can assign simpler, separate, security settings to the 2.4Ghz band for them to use temporarily. An on/off switch. Good connection speed.

better than all the critical reviews would have you believe

Amazon Customer, Amazon
29 August 2009
  • Summary: I bought this router primarily because it was the most expensive, lol. I didn't really think it through at first. My main reason for getting it was that I had a Netgear wireless G USB adapter which I hated because of the poor software. I decided if I was going to buy a new adapter I would get an N adapter. So, I went an bought this router before I ever got the N adapter so that when I got the new adapter I'd be N ready.

Fast and easy to setup

Busy Executive, Amazon
29 July 2009
  • Summary: Replaced a Linksys WRT350N with this unit, and so far no regrets... Setup was fairly simple, although I'm not a fan of the Cisco/Linksys setup program that hides many of the advanced setup options from you. Would have been nice if they read the existing configuration off my Linksys device, and then carried all of the settings forward to the new one, but alas, they didn't think of that.
