Summary: Overall, the performance of the WRT610N router is good. I do have one major problem with it though. The router will slow down internet traffic from my broadband provider speed of 18Mb/s to about 1Mb/s after about a day. I have been using [...
Good router...terrible for storage server or ftp functions
DTee "USABrit", Amazon
26 March 2010
Summary: Had Linksys for many years. I had high expectations of this system and had read many articles about it...I use the G version but wanted dual band for the streaming and also that this had hard drive connectivity, could be used as an ftp site and also a media server. Two parts.
Summary: to the list of those who feel let down by Linksys. Had a 2 year old Linksys N-band product and was looking for better range from this router for my wireless home network. Do everyone a favor and drop Network Magic aka Ma-junk. Go back to producing the quality stuff you can.
Good only for short ranges thru walls; added Powerline Kit
24 April 2009
Summary: Updated Review Update: 12/24/2009: Received and installed LinkSys Powerline AV Network Kit (PLK300) which carries information on a carrier frequency riding on the 120VAC house wiring within the home (home side of circuitry after main breaker to electric company supply).
Summary: I bought this router to replace my old linksys and I have been pretty pleased with it so far. Somewhat foolishly I started installing this whilst I was in a hurry but all was well as it simply plugged in as a replacement and the software installed without issue.
Summary: I purchased this router to replace an again Netgear G device that was failing. After two days of trying to get it to work properly with my home network I finally gave up and returned it. To be fair, I must admit that I have a large network with various vintages and makes of wireless gear.
I gave 2 stars for features, took off 3 stars for bad connectivity
23 October 2008
Summary: My title says all. when I bought this router, I was very impressed with its features. I even set up hard disk with router and exposed it as a media server. Was able to successfully see movies seamlessly via my PS3 in living room. Every feature it offers, works great.
Summary: Heads ought to be rolling at Linksys. This router seems to be only the latest half baked product that has been prematurely shoved out the door. Back about five years ago or so I swore by Linksys products. I was very optimistic that they would get even better once Cisco acquired Linksys.
