Summary: I bought this router to set up a VPN wireless access point in my network using dd-wrt. It worked with no problems, it has great wireless range and stable speed. It is a great (and cheap) candidate to use dd-wrt firmware but if you want the MEGA build, you need the version 1.1 with 8MB of flash memory which is more expensive.
Excerpt: This is OK for the money but not great. I had more problems with mine before having to get it replaced. The people at Linksys are good to work with but this is definately not one that will work for any length of time. I had mine for just a couple years and like I said, had to get it replaced. The problem was with port forwarding, something I knew nothing about until it stopped working. I know that anything electronic can break at any time.
Excerpt: Effective, yet Glitched I love the Linksys WRT300N Wireless Router because whenever I need internet for my laptop it is mostlythere whether it is storming or a clear sky. Now, there are some days that it is not there for whatever reason and of course I am always disappointed. When it does not work, the PC also does not work and so I am stuck without internet unless I use my 3G enabled phone.
For work: ALWAYS cisco... For Home: DEFINITELY LinkSYS!
