Summary: This router arrived in great condition and looked like a quality product. Unfortunately, it was incompatible with my ISP. If a friend asks about it I would tell them to research it first before purchasing it.
Summary: I like the sleek look and it runs great. Setup is easy as it always is with Linksys products. Make sure to select the correct channels and settings in the wireless so that all your equipment works. I had a bit of trouble with my G printer until I fixed the settings. Now everything works better and my online experience on my N laptop is much better than it was.
Summary: I bought this as something to replace my old wireless n router that recently died. I just wanted something cheap. When I first installed it, I couldn't get it to pull a 192.168 IP for anything. I finally plugged my PC in to port #2 and it gave me an IP and I was able to access the router admin page. I immediately flashed the bios and haven't had a problem since. My desktop is wired, and my wife uses wireless.
Pros: CHEAP! Got it for $19.99 on Cyber Monday. Glossy Black Wireless N
Cons: Comes with CD?? lol Couldn't pull an IP for NOTHING until I flashed the bios.
Summary: Even after reading all the bad reviews here, I purchased this router to replace an 8 year old Netgear at my father's house because the WRT120N is cheap and cute. It had problems assigning network settings via DHCP until I upgraded the firmware from 1.0.04 to 1.0.07. Since then it has performed well in a decidedly undemanding environment--3 wireless clients sharing a 4 Mb/s internet connection. Coverage is decent in a 3,200 sq.
Pros: Inexpensive Smallish footprint No external antenna
Cons: Shipped with 3 year old firmware Wireless speeds aren't the fastest Cannot run DD-WRT Runs a bit warm
Summary: Started having issues with dropped connection, and was rebooting constantly (just like everybody else). Tech support only said "I should buy a new one." After some (a lot) of research found out it was single blockage from neighbors' router (overlapping channels). Once I switched channels it fixed it right up. You have to go into Network Magic -> Manage my Device -> Log in ->Wireless Settings to edit the channel options. Its a bit hard to find, but its there.
Pros: - Simple / basic / easy to setup - Ideal for small homes (dorm rooms, apartments, etc). - Much better routers out there, but this is a good value for the price
Cons: - Limited range, large homes will have issues - Tech support is a complete joke - Gaming systems (bandwidth heavy devices) will need to be in the same room as the router, or hard wired to it.
Summary: It appears that the software that came with the products was outdated as I couldn't still it with that software. After almost an hour of attempts, I decided to download the installation file from the website, which works flawlessly. Other than that, the product works basically fine. I find that I do have reset it sometimes though. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but resetting it fixes the problem when I don't get a signal on my tablet.
