Linksys is a HORRIBLE product!!!

  • Summary: This Linksys is a 2008 model which we soon found out after purchasing this item we can not use it. We had to purchase another wireless router (which is a Netgear). Every time we had to call Linksys for help after losing connection they basically told us they could not help us because of how old it was. I will never again purchase anything other than Netgear.

  • Summary: Hooked up this thing in minutes. In the beginning it delivered great speed to my laptop and desktop. It slowly failed within three hours then finally no connectivity at all. Probably a good purchase for some but not here. I exchanged for the less expensive Linksys WRT54G2 that has performed flawlessly for nearly two years.
  • Pros: Nice form factor. Good throughput. Easy setup.
  • Cons: Not reliable. It died a quick and merciful death within hours.

Not worth it - Linksys that is

  • Summary: Linksys's customer support is a joke. It took 2 weeks to receive my replacement router after RMA and when I recieved the new one it was badly scratch, had something spilled all over the front of it, and had a power port so lose it would not turn on). Contacted customer support about the junk they sent me and said they would send a new one as well as email a UPS shipping label. Took 3 days to get the lable via email.
  • Pros: Has nice sleek design and LEDs are more readable than the WRT54G. The unit is also wall mountable.
  • Cons: There are several problems with thus product such as poor ventilation (the unit gets very hot), non-stackable, firmware can be temperamental at times. Mine just stopped working one day and could not reflash the firmware despite 2 hours on the phone with tech support.

  • Summary: had been working fine for about 10months, and then started disconnecting like every 10-15 mins. I was a big fan of old Linksys's WRT54 series, but not any more.
  • Pros: good design, beautiful blue lights.
  • Cons: weak signal, stupid configuration software.

a mess and waste of time

  • Summary: I had the router working fine for about 3 weeks and then it just started to drop the wired and wireless connections every 9 seconds. I have no problems with newegg as the shippng was fast. But Linksys who is now cisco should not be making bargin basement equipment. I am very dissapointed! I would not by anything linksys again.
  • Pros: This router LOOKS nice.
  • Cons: This router does not WORK nice.

It kinda works but...

2 July 2009
  • Summary: Sending this back, It's just not what I expected from Linksys, I had my WRT54G v2 for 5 years, never had a problem until it died last week... It seems all the newer Linksys have disappointing reviews... I bought a D-Link DIR-825, It it's EPIC FAST.
  • Pros: Speedy Sleek looking Solid Ethernet Connection Decent Range
  • Cons: It seems to disconnect at random times and has to be reset to reconnect. Sometimes the Wireless N Refuses to go over 54mbps. Not what I paid for... If I wanted 54mbps a new WRT54G is only $45! Fingerprint/Dust magnet Gloss Black Runs kinda warm, and with the small form factor, theres really no where for the heat to go. For some reason, after 2 days, it refused to let me in to the Web Utility, no matter what ip address I used, (ipconfig gateway) Even after many restart...

Not great...

  • Summary: Get the WRT54 routers. I have had my WRT54G for 5 years, and it still works much better than my WRT110.
  • Pros: It was cheap when and where I bought it. The EasyConnect software was actually, well, easy and accurately identified problems in the connection.
  • Cons: The router's range is limited. I was only two thin walls and 24 feet away (on the same floor) from the router, and I supposedly had an almost full strength connection but the speeds of my internet (around 26 mb downstream) was slow. I could only download at less than 3 mb. I was receiving faster wireless d/l speeds from a WRT54G much farther away (same speed internet as well). I tested out distances and found out I had 18 m/b right beside the router, 12 mb 12 feet awa...

works untill the reception went bad

  • Pros: When it was working it had a very large range. On my laptop it reached up to 4 or more bars out of 5 so its was very awesome, but .,,,,
  • Cons: the connection keep failing and sometimes my laptop said that it can not connect to the wireless. Just like now ..as soon as i got into this page the internet just went off. Its strange because right now i have 3 bars and the internet is not working but when i have 4 bars its working. And its not my internet source cause the wireless is connected to my other computer and its working perfectly there so it must be the wireless

Linksys WRT110 RangePlus Wireless Router

P.Travis, Rate it all!
14 December 2008
  • Summary: Router ceased all effective functionality within one month of purchase. Wireless connection was never reliable, and attempting to connect a laptop eventually caused even wired connections to cease functioning. Linksys took an RMA and sent a replacement, which has now reached its seventh and final week of use. Laptops cannot connect, my desktop can use an ethernet cable with the router only with regular hard restarts, which return the router to factory default.
