Don't buy it if you don't use Internet Explorer

Darius K., Amazon
11 September 2014
  • Summary: The Webview administrative interface only works with Internet Explorer. Safari and Firefox are out. I have a Mac/Linux environment and cannot manage this switch except by CLI. The switch is going back to Amazon.

Rock Solid

Bryan Lynch, Amazon
22 June 2010
  • Summary: I have been running this switch for over 5 years now rack-mounted in the garage. Yes the fans make some noise, but on hot days I'm glad that they're running. This has been rock-solid and I can say that I have not had one single issue in the entire time running it.

Fast but noisy

J. Fraser, Amazon
1 April 2007
  • Summary: I'm using several of these at our office and one at home. No complaints with performance, the web management UI works (We've set up spanning tree on a few), the rack mount form factor is convenient enough, but the fans on these are noisy. The one at home is under the stairs in our unfinished basement, and I can hear it clearly around the basement and sometimes even in the room at the top of the stairs.

Great Switch, good price, a lot of features

Edison "hightech lover", Amazon
21 March 2007
  • Summary: We brought two different brand switches to test. This SRW2016 from Linksys and WSR7312 from Netgear. NetGear switch is over $1000 and this one is under $400. Both of them are all gigabit ports. Linksys has 16 gigabit ports and Netgear has 12 gigabit ports. However, this SRW2016 has more functions and features than the Netgear $1000 switches. For example, this switch supports LAGs for gang ports together in different LACP groups. Netgear switch does not.
