Summary: This switch did not last long. It died just out of the return/ warranty period. I am a Network Engineer and also have a debug background. This thing just quit powering up. It wasn't like I had packet loss or anything like that. It just died. The AC adapter was still working so it was the actual unit. It did what it was supposed to while it worked.
Summary: Works great, at a great price. I don't mind buying refurbished; to me it means someone actually inspected the item (and fixed whatever defect would have come my way if I'd been the original buyer). Note that this does not have an auto-sensing port, so you will need a crossover cable (like the Belkin A3X126-03-YLW-M available here) if you want something like my ATT U-Verse TV box to supply an Internet connection to your other networked devices (in my case a laptop, a...
Excerpt: I purchased this Linksys switch to replace a 12 year old Cisco switch that finally quit working. After trading out the cables I just had to power the unit up and it handled everything else on its own. The switch auto negotiated the connect to my network, then connected to the four devices downstream instantly.
Linksys Refurbished SE1500 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch

Summary: This review is for the 10/100 (Fast Ethernet) 5-port switch. The refurbished switch arrived in a factory sealed box. It powered on and worked correctly. In service at the time of this review and doing its job. I like the ability to disable the front LEDs since the switch is being used in an entertainment center. Good product at a great price.
Summary: Wow. Wish I had gotten one of these sooner. SOOOOOO much easier. Plug it in to your modem and plug in your computer cable and it just works right away. I very very happy with this way to increase the number of ports available for plugging in my devices. I got this refurbished switch thinking it would looked used but it's new and the price was so low I just couldn't pass it up.
