Summary: This Cisco switch could have easily received a 5 star review from me had it lasted 2-3 years. However port #3 went bad after only 11 months. I have to admit that I'm clueless as to the construction of electronics so I can't even begin to guess exactly which component failed.
Summary: Like other reviewers have experienced, this product died on me: download speed went from 10 mbps to 0.4 mbps. Sure, it is covered with limited life time warranty, but speaking from my experience, Cisco's customer service is even worse than its product.
Summary: I'm an instrumentation repair technician for a large environmental laboratory. The IT department replaced one of these switches because it had terrible packet loss(the metal shell type) and i snagged it up.
Summary: I've had the same problems as everyone else. After a few months, my connection dropped constantly. When it did work, my connection to my computers were 10mbps or 100mbps. At first I thought it was a problem with my gigabit cards, then I started swapping in new cables.
Summary: After reading some of the horror stories on earlier Cisco Home Network switches, I must admit, this one worked exactly as I would have expected a Cisco product to work. My only negative is that it was "Made in China".
