Summary: Linksys RV042 is a simple to configure and reliable VPN router. One of the main benefits is setting up a VPN tunnel between remote offices (albeit another RV042 at the other site) is an easy task.
Summary: Great router/firewall for small business offices! Full featured and easy to setup. 2nd WAN port for backup Internet provider connection or configure as a DMZ network. Supports multiple VPN encryption protocols point to point as well as Cisco Quick VPN software client. Have many installed at client sites.
Summary: The RV042 is ROCK SOLID. I haven't had a single issue with it and I've POKED AND PRODDED quite a bit trying to get the best settings for my installation. As a gateway router for a fail-over internet line this unit is top notch. If your looking for extra bandwidth via Dual-Wan and your internet provider doesn't yet provide multi or bonded lines then this is the device to use.
Summary: This is made out of metal, compared to most consumer routers being made out of plastic. I got this for $80 shipped and love it! It has twice the ram of my wrt540gl and has lowered ping times on my network. The only downside is no gigabit, but it was made around 2004, not surprising. If you don't care for gigabit and want a small, metal, good quality business router, this is the one for you. It's also the easiest to reset to default that i've seen.
