Summary: Rocketfuel was the seller and they sent me a nonfunctioning unit. The power supply was dead and the unit wouldn't work. I tried to return it and they wouldn't let me nor give me a refund until I got my credit card company involved. They then gave me a refund on the product.
Summary: I have used this series of routers, switches, cable modems and access points for years now and never had any real issues.
Pros: Solid Switch, solid build as well. I have these in all three sizes (5, 8 and 16 ports) and never had an issue with these switches. The 16 port switch is nice as it stacks with the WRT54G router - too bad Linksys / Cicso have put away with this nice feature.
Summary: I can't vouch for the fact that Linksys is still using the same components as those used in to manufacture the unit my office purchased over 9 years ago. That said, the fact they're still making this model is remarkable.
Pros: 16 ports, rock solid reliability, $60.
Cons: From my perspective, there are no cons when considering this unit's features, reliability and product longevity. Yes, we wish this thing had gigabit capabilities, but reliable 16-port gigabit switches just aren't a reality at this price point.
Summary: I purchased the Linksys EZXS16W so I could have access to the router and cable modem from several locations in the house. Opend the box, plugged in the unit, attached the network cables, and just like that, everyone can get to the internet. Works as indicated. Great product!
Summary: Arrived as advertised, except that the case was black instead of blue, so it doesn't match the rest of the stack of gear. But that really isn't an issue... just cosmetic. I really like how the Linksys units all stack together; it's a great design.
Summary: This switch has been the anchor of the network it was originally installed in for 8 years!!! It, along with its little 5 port brother, are time tested products. A switch is usually only noticeable in a network when there is some sort of problem with it.
