Summary: I bought this two weeks ago. Setup was easy . Only problem I had with is that the internet speed at my modem is somewhere around 35 Mbs and if I connect wireless or wired at the router I wont get more than 18 Mbs . Tried everything , diff location , diff setups, called their support nothing .....
Summary: The initial install of the router went fine. I have Uverse so after my initial install I wanted go in a tweak some of the settings. Apprently once the router does an upgrade, you can no longer go into the router via the IP address, you must use the cloud application. I reset the router at the rear of the unit thinking I could get back to factory defaults and reinstall. Big mistake.
Summary: Bought this EA4500 to replace an old WRT54GS. I use linux (Ubuntu 12.04). I *did not* use the Cisco Connect software at all. Never even took the CD out of the packet. Just plugged it in to a spare network port on my linux box which DHCP'd and came up fine. Pointed my Firefox browser at http://192.168.1.1 and immediately got the familiar old interface with lots of new goodies. 7th heaven. After setup, it worked fine.
Summary: Linksys EA4500 App-Enabled N900 Dual-Band Wireless-N Router with Gigabit and USB Sad to say, after two days, (received on June 6, 2012) this did not meet my expectation. I have a E3000 which exceeded my expectation, but because I am adding new devices, I figure that I should upgrade my router; I tried the new NETGEAR 6300 but it did not have a guest network and I returned it and brought this EA4500.
Summary: installation cd asked for my admin password on my mac: Not going to happen then it wanted me to agree to a licensee agreement: Not going to happen. the user manual on the cd is in every language. Why not have a separate file for each language instead of making me go through pages and pages to find it. (english started at page 127 of 591). once again, cisco didn't just say the router IP (192.168.1.1) and I had to look it up on the manual in the CD.

Comparing the Linksys EA4500 to the Netgear WNDR4500
5 May 2012
Summary: I recently had a chance to compare the Netgear WNDR4500 and the Cisco EA4500 - both top of the line consumer grade routers that are brimming over with the latest features. Since there is very little difference in their feature sets, I am going to try and answer a more important question: Which router is the better choice as the centerpiece of a home network?
