Excerpt: I've had good luck with Linksys routers so when my old one (about eight years old) gave out, I bought the Linksys EA2700. I'm using it as a wired router for two computers so I wasn't too concerned about the range of the wireless part. However, I may want to use it as a wireless router in the future and the range isn't that great. From the office to the bedroom (about 30 feet), I only get three bars.
Summary: so i replaced my previous ea2700 which went bad in 16 months. just stayed with the same router cause my main internet issue is the poor performance of AT&T in delivering the strength of signal I pay for - 3mbps but usually closer to 2mbps - so i guess i need to pay another $5 per month for supposedly 6mbps.
Excerpt: I purchased the Linksys EA 2700 after my ole router stopped working. I looked for a la few days before deciding on this product. I read many of the reviews about this product. I have only used it now for approx. one week, but i have not had any issues with it. The Linksys EA 2700 came with instructions that were easy to follow.
Excerpt: The salesperson pointed out I should start the install disk before disconnecting the previous router. I did this, and the installation was very simple. The router works well. The old router had to be powered off several times a day. This new router has not had to be rebooted at all. The speed is not as fast as I had hoped, but me expectations were very high. It works as advertised. I have no problems with it.
Summary: I needed to add an extra Access Point and with this router being on sale for $20, it was a no-brainer. The router was easy to set up but the web interface to configure it was dead slow. I ended up rolling back the firmware to the original interface and it was much faster. It works as promised and now the wifi range in my house is much better.
