Summary: The router cannot detect HFS+ formatted drives. This means that you can't buy it if you want to plug in an external hard drive to do time machine backups. This compatibility issue is described DEEP in the documentation. If you intend to use a hard drive attached to a router, I suggest you get a networked USB port, like the iomega connect or LaCie LaPlug.
Summary: I was talked into buying this by a store salesman as a replacement for my dying old D-link router. At first i loved how easy it was to install and set up. i love the features it has. However I noticed a large increase in how long it took to load wireless streaming services. I clocked somewhere around 5min at one point to try and load a youtube music video.
Summary: Me and several other people have been having problems with the latest firmware of this product (version 1.0.02). The speed of wireless is terrible unless you disable WMM support. The tech support are aware of this problem, but nothing has happened for quite a while...
Summary: I purchased this N-router as I was told that the newer technology would have better range than my old G-router, which is many years old. Unfortunately, the wifi range for the new router was far inferior to the old so the N-router is being returned.
Summary: This router was terrible for me. It dropped signal way to often. I used to be a linksys fan, but not after three different models. I ended up buying the Asus black diamond. It is a great router.
Poor support, inconsistent performance, a black hole for my time.

Summary: Cisco easy installation software would not work with my computer. Required me to update my OS from Mac 10.5.5 to 10.5.8, or downgrade to 10.4.9. Downgrade? Seriously? You'll support 10.4.9 but not 10.5.5? Strike 1 for being jenky. I decided to configure it manually and got no help from Cisco whatsoever. No documentation for this and if I wanted support, it came at a price starting at $40. Not cool just to get the product I bought from them to function properly.
Summary: Out of the box the E-1500 worked well with the pair of Cisco AE-1000 N adapters as well as the various G devices we have...shortly after we started having problems like random dropouts ( it would say we had intenet but we didnt, manually reset the adapter and it worked again/all was fine at the modem end and G adapters) and odd random slowdowns, I opened the Cisco connect software and was notified there was an important update for the router, I followed the instructions...
Summary: Wired I am getting high speed downloads. Wireless I am on or even below dial up speeds. Sucks I wasted my money on this item. The WRT54G was faster but giving problems, it was back when Linksys built real products
Summary: This is about the tenth wireless router I have configured, and it was by far the most difficult. In their effort to make setup easy for newbies, the wireless setup was extremely confusing for me. For example, it asks for a name and password for the router. Nowhere was I told that this was the network name and password! And nowhere was I told what kind of authentication was being used. I still don't know.
