Summary: This router was easy to set up and makes life easier. The only problem I'm having is that I have to unplug it and replug it back in constantly to get the signal to reach my back bedroom or for my laptop to run quickly. The laptop is right next to it. I also live in a 2 bedroom apartment..
Excerpt: took me quite a while to hook it up correctly because I am not a "computer expert" and because it took 3 passes to download the software disc nto the laptop. Once it did get downloaded though it has seemed to be a good tool
Cons: The router delivers only 30Mbps wirelessly. It can't do faster unless it is connected via cable to the desktop. I verified with the customer service from Linksys. I got recently an upgrade from my ISP and the modem delivers the speed. But the router does not.
Excerpt: I wanted to do something beyond the trivial setup. I wanted no security and a network 10.1.1.0. The setup software put up a terrible fight and I had to talk to the router directly, but the router continues to put up a fight for selecting no security.
Summary: I bought this E1200 refurbished router and used it on my 3 Mbps Comcast connection for about a year a half without issue. I recently switched to Comcast's 50 Mbps tier and that's when I realized I was only getting 15-25 Mbps.
Summary: This is a decent budget router. If you have a small apartment or plan to only use the internet closeby the router it is great and will deliver great speeds. However, the range on this router is awful.
