David K., Newegg
15 May 2014
  • Pros: maybe good for a single house with no streaming
  • Cons: router struggles with speed, streaming hd content to 2 computers and gaming seems to really tax this one. drops signal and slows down alot.. last night i had to reset it twice

Not good at all

Anonymous, Newegg
5 April 2014
  • Summary: There are no screw head style mounting points of any kind on the bottom of this router, making nice and tidy basement wall mounts on wood impossible. This is more of a home, top of the desk style router anyway though.
  • Pros: Unlike most routers, this one came with software on CD that is actually really helpful to inexperienced users. I found it to be very hand-holdy and guided and quite intelligent. I didn’t see any free trial or borderline malware that it tried to load either. I did find the software to be a bit gli...
  • Cons: The number one problem with this router by far is the lack of gigabit on the wired ports. That is so completely insane, I can’t believe it’s true but it is. So you’re stuck at 100 megabits tops, also known as 12.5 MB/s top file transfer speed. Even large print jobs will take forever at that speed...

Problem with distance

David M., Newegg
2 April 2014
  • Summary: The E900-NP is about $10 cheaper than the E1200-NP but it has a better supporting distance from the unit. Although the E1200-NP has more menu options the majority of home users will never touch them.
  • Pros: Internet Connection: Verizon FIOS, 75MB Download, 35 MB Upload Compared to Linksys E900-NP, E1200-NP and EA6700 Menus for options are simplistic and good. It has a tab format and you choose which section you want to go into. The menus are not as advanced and clean as the EA6700 but the two wirele...
  • Cons: The E1200-NP had severe problems with distance, when going to the other side of my home both the EA900-NP and EA6700 saw small cuts to their performance. BUT the EA1200-NP went down to speeds of 5Mbps Download and Upload while the other units were still in the 30s and 40s.

Fair

A reviewer from Maine, Linksys
12 March 2014
  • Excerpt: The product is easy to install and works okay, but it won't allow torrent downloads no matter what I do. None of my computers connected with Linksys are able to, and the problem started the moment I installed the product. No help on the internet for this problem.

not compatible after all

s, Staples
10 March 2014
  • Excerpt: I like the Linksys routers and this one says it is compatible with Vista operating system. But it is not. If you go on-line and check blogs, there are 10's of thousands of folks who found out the long way around, also, that it is NOT compatible.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up
  • Cons: No Compatible With Vista

Over Priced, Under Powered

Noah F., Newegg
9 March 2014
  • Summary: If you have devices that support Gigabit Ethernet, this device will hinder your network. If you have walls in your house, like mine, then this device will be weak. If you host your media on a network attached device (NAS), don't bother watching until you have downloaded it to your PC, as opposed to...
  • Pros: The router interface is very easy to use. As with most routers, it does allow for Static IP Reservations, MAC Address Filtering & Cloning, comes with its own firewall, and allows for channel changing. It offers DDNS through two suppliers and IPv6 Support, as well as Static Routing, which was very...
  • Cons: The physical design of this router is ultimately flawed. It is heavy on one end and has a lip on the side with the ports. It offers no option for wall mounting. Put the nasty lip and lack of wall mounts together, and that pretty much eliminates its selection from corporate integration, who like t...
