Nice little switch

Jeremy R., Newegg
18 April 2008
  • Summary: Have to wonder how they get away with using a name that looks and sounds similar to a well-known brand of networking equipment...
  • Pros: Small size makes it reasonably portable. Seems to work without a hitch.
  • Cons: Adapter is 120V only; if you want to use it in a 240V country you'll need to find an appropriate adapter.

  • Summary: the power supply could be configured to take up a single slot on a power strip, I don't know why more companies haven't done this yet.
  • Pros: smaller size in comparison to some of my older hubs. ports in back, lights in front.
  • Cons: none...

Works great with my Alcatel STH (hacked Pro)

Larry R., Newegg
28 April 2006
  • Pros: Have this sharing my Alcatel ST Home (with Pro features enabled) between my LAN. Was using a router with myu modem in bridge mode, but there was an anoying lag, so I took the router out, and let the DSL modem do the PPPoE, and NAT routing with this switch. No lag at all now.
  • Cons: Could have included the screws to mount it to the wall, but that's being a nit pick.

  • Summary: i have the older version of this switch, just different styling. I have 3 systems running behind a gateway hooked to a cable modem. has never had a problem, i just restart it once every month or so. with this setup, every computer gets our 3megabit cable, 240kbps dowloads, simultaneously.

Excellent

Yusuf M., Newegg
3 December 2003
  • Summary: This one has a good variety of the 802.3 protocols. Suprisingly small, but good performance, ease of installation and complete functionality combined with a great price make this switch worth it.Thanks Newegg for the great service.
